Date single man from California, United States. How do I start? I guess I"m looking for someone who really likes her life as it is, wants to share it, says what's on her mind, without holding back, and sees the world and life in somewhat the same ways I do. I have to ask that you're within a reasonable geographical proximity, also, to where I live.
I'm not your average world-traveler, and I don't ski, as I notice there are many on this site that are looking for that. I'm more someone who is more likely to prefer staying home with my loved one, but still likes to go out to eat once in a while, to the movies, enjoys roadtrips, and just plain enjoys life. If this sounds like the type of person you're seeking a relationship with, let's talk. ( however there *are* many places I'd love to travel to at least once, including Italy and Greece)
Most of my interests are the types of simple entertainment such as movie rentals, reading, smart quality TV, and being creative software-wise (I spend a lot of time doing a lot of the same types of things that I do at my f/t job, but more creative). A lot of my friends are married, or have gotten tired of L.A./CA and just picked up and left, but even so, I still manage to go out and have a drink once in a while, whether it's a friend in town, or a cousin.
I prefer a woman who has her own interests on her own off time as well - basically someone who has a part of her life that consumes her attention and gives her joy, things she loves doing, and places that part of her life pretty high.
I love to try anything though (did a tandem skydive once), like to talk about anything, and occasionally enjoy small clubs where they have live music playing, but not into bars per se.
I also am looking for someone who doesn't take the annoying, trivial annoyances to heart, and instead has a silly or humorous outlook on life. Laughing at the world can be fun, when that happens to be the best response, that is.
Someone very physically affectionate would be nice.
Really not into any kind of organized religion, so I wouldn't be your ideal mate if you're an Orthodox anything.
If you like animals, that's another plus - if you don't, not like it's a minus.

As for men, I'm attracted to an intelligent, compassionate, cool and confident person who is assertive, a thinker, and at least somewhat funny. And, of course, a total animal lover - hopefully a vegan/vegetarian...or open to that. I am vegan myself because I believe that imprisoning, torturing and killing innocent, sentient beings for human consumption and use in any way is cruel - plain and simple.
Good communication and stimulating conversation is essential. I like trying new restaurants and listening to music/watching bands at mellow, low-key venues (like dive bars or coffee spots). I love my dogs as children and since they will probably be gone before I am, I really don't want to be away from them (i.e., I'm not into traveling -- at all). Local, a couple days (preferably with them), fine.
It's really a connection I seek, though; not an activity partner. When we have that, it seems like the rest doesn't matter so much!
