The important stuff.
I am happy, easy-to-get-along and with a peaceful and often self-deprecating demeanor. I am tolerant, open-minded, and non-judgmental. Respectful. There are no titles, trips or achievements that will impress me more than a pure, kind heart. Great spirits don't need to see themselves above others nor they have anything to prove or achieve. I try to emulate those great spirits. I try to live an uncomplicated, fun and simple life.
In a personal level I am very approachable, fun, upbeat, with a positive outlook. A good conversationalist. With my partner I am very affectionate and patient. Loyal. Honest. Supportive. My degrees are in Mathematics (MIT) with a philosophical bent, I have a logical and an emotional side. I try to use both hands and both sides of my brain! I love music more than any other art but I do enjoy most artistic expressions. I have an affinity for the abstract, I like architecture and design, from the beauty of buildings to ordinary things that we find in an urban environment, in nature and in our daily lives. I am attracted to creative types and I prefer a rather unstructured approach to life.
I love poetry, black and white photography, classic literature, classical music (from Renaissance to Avant-garde), Blues, Jazz, old school Salsa music , rock bands from the Beatles to REM and all kinds of world music, east, west, north and south! I love books. I like to read great works on their original languages so I'm always good for learning a new language, currently reading Siddhartha by Herman Hesse in German.
I don't consider myself a nerd nor a geek because I didn't grow up like that. Back when I was a kid you weren't in your room all day long playing computer games. My parents didn't shield us from the sharp edges of the world, they let us be. I grew up with my brothers and friends exploring the jungle, eating tamarinds, guavas, mangoes and other wild fruits; exploring the mountains, the brooks and rivers; sleeping atop a centuries old mango tree, riding our bikes through mud and river beds, jumping off cliffs. Catching lizards, snakes and bull-frogs. Bitten by wasps, chased by dogs and bulls. We tinkered with our bikes, we built things, we played sports. We got bruises, broken bones, stitches. At night I delighted in reading and learning about the things that we discovered: nature, animals, geology, astronomy, mechanics, geometry, etc. It was a fascinating world back then and now it's even more so. I try to keep a young spirit. Besides unlike many of my peers, I pay attention to what I wear and I have a sense of style.
I don't fish or hunt because killing or hurting other creatures is not my idea of fun. I am not vegan, not even vegetarian, but I understand and try to help alleviate the plight of beings raised for human consumption. I love all kinds of animals but I don't have any pets.
I enjoy riding my bike on long rides and I enjoy an occasional game of softball or soccer. I like being fit so I work out regularly. I enjoy watching all kinds of sports. I consider myself handy and I enjoy building things when I have time.

As for my ideal match I don't have any preconceived ideas about you, but it will be nice if you were different from me in a harmonic way that allows us to grow and learn from each other. Fun is a great road trip. Just when you think you might end up at your stop, but take a side trip or two is always in order. Cruising up PCH to the central coast for wine tasting and the anticipation of the visiting of new places and/or seeing old favorite’s ones makes for a fun trip with that special person. My last trip was in Napa where I was nearby on a business trip and a group of us took a day of wine tasting and visiting St. Helena. Great views, hiking and it is still an awesome place to see each time!
I spend my weekends keeping busy moving forward, horseback riding, bike riding to the beach, working around the house and maybe a fun day trip with the dogs somewhere we haven’t been before.. Angel Games, USC football, Lakers or just relax in the backyard with a book under the shade of a tree. I do enjoy cooking and entertaining with friends, enjoying great wines. I can go from shorts and a T-shirt to a Tux for a night out on the town in a snap.
The last 14 years have been on and off the road traveling with Auto Racing on the weekends and the day job during the week. I still travel, but at a lesser frequency as in the past.
