I'm a photographer and writer. I have an almost insane quest to explore the world physically and intellectually. I'm a classic "know-it-all" but temper it with wanting to know about you and just about everything else. I am a participator in life. Even though I'm on the downward skid of life I am full of life and energy. And I still believe in falling in love. It is, at the same time, the most delicious thing and the scariest thing a person will allow themselves to do. I've been told that I'm cute in an AARP sort of way. I have a talent for making people laugh and often laugh at myself. I make friends easily and have a trusted cadre of close friends. Just enough to be manageable without being troublesome. I HATE people who are closed minded, bigoted and mean. If you like Rush Limbaugh, don't even think of contacting me.
YOU have a great sense of humor, respect all cultures even if you don't agree with everything about them. You are easy on the eye (I can't help it; I'm a photographer!). You are a feminine feminist. You can be girly and get your hands dirty. You have great friends and enjoy spending time with them. You are comfortable in your own skin, but still want that special person to snuggle up to and know that when you are in his arms you are safe and protected. You will feel secure enough to melt.
I love the smell of sage after rain in the desert.
I love the sun on my face on a chilly winter’s day telegraphing the promise of another spring.
I love sunrise in the desert.
I love sunset on the beach.
I love lying unadorned in bed with my beloved’s head on my shoulder and her hand on my chest known that, for the moment, everything is perfect.
I love her genuine smile and liquid eyes and how it lights up my heart.
My favorite quote (it is actually a hybrid of two quotes) is "The mass of men live lives of quiet desperation and go to the grave with their song still in them".
I also like this quote by Mark Twain: “Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime.”
Now the difficult part. Since getting on Match, I’ve met a handful of women face-to-face. The first woman I met looked better than her photographs on Match. That brought a smile to my face, but more importantly it made it easier to get down to what was important, which was talking to her. The next woman I met looked pretty much like her photos so, again it was easy to start talking to her. Alas, the next ones looked very different than their photos. They had posted pictures that were taken years before or were radically altered and that made it difficult since I couldn’t make the transition and be able to really talk to them. Are men superficial? I think the short answer is YES; in the beginning MOST of us are. I have really appreciated women who have dated their pictures or at least some of them. If I put up pictures of me that are really dated, I’m going to get found out and you are not going to be happy. Indeed, I have had conversations with women who were very irritated when they met a man on Match who didn’t look like his photos. So it isn’t just men.
That said, I am looking for a woman who takes care of herself mentally, physically and spiritually and above all has a great sense of humor, loves to engage in spirited conversations, and wants to EXPLORE me, herself and the world around us.

Date single man from Chico, United States. To clarify, I'm separated but the divorce is on file and there's no going back. I'm 62 years old, 6 feet 2 inches tall and weigh 205 pounds. I don’t work out as such, but I take care of an acre of sloping ground, a house, cars, and miscellaneous tasks, which keeps me in reasonable shape, and I do exercise. I’m the son of a non English speaking immigrant mother and a blue collar father, and I’m proud to say I have a bit of the immigrant mentality in me. Neither of my parents finished the tenth grade. My mother and I learned to write English together as I went through grade school. Even so, I managed to make it through U.C. Davis and U.C. Hastings College of the Law. I’m a licensed attorney. I have practiced law, been corporate counsel, and for the last 21 years have been a public sector lawyer working for elected officials. “Public sector” means that I have earned a comfortable living but am not wealthy. I will be even less wealthy, but still in good shape with a public sector pension, when I retire in a few years. I grew up in the Bay Area, graduating from high school in 1966. This placed me squarely in the middle of the counter culture revolution, the Summer of Love, etc., and I participated with vigor. I have lived in Napa, Monterey, Mendocino, San Francisco, Sonora, Sacramento, Placerville and Paradise, CA. I have backpacked some 3,000 miles through the Sierra Nevada, Olympics, Yellowstone, and various other places. I have completed the John Muir and Tahoe-Yosemite Trails. Many of these trips were alone, with friends, or with now departed Australian Shepherds whose passing still hurts many years later. I am not a veteran but I have done classified work for the U.S. Government. I have two daughters, ages 28 and 38, both of whom are beautiful, powerful and successful women. My younger daughter lives in Wash., D.C. My elder daughter lives in Tempe, AZ with my grand daughter, age 4. I am proud to say that I raised the younger daughter for the most part by myself and that people who watched her grow up still express their admiration for her. In case you can’t tell, my daughters and grand daughter are my pride and joy. My politics are all over the place but not random. If you’re someone who is comfortable being labeled “liberal” or “conservative”, etc., you will surely find something in my opinions to disagree with, but you will also likely find much you can relate to. In general I’m an open minded person who still believes in freedom and “different strokes for different folks” just like back in the day. My approach to life is old school skepticism. I’m open to almost anything, but not without scrutiny. I have lots of friends, some of whom go all the way back to age 2, and we can and do still kick it on occasion. As for you, I hope to find that you also are a critical thinker, but not to the point of paralysis, and not an ideologue. I am most comfortable in the natural world. I am a pretty good photographer and have won a few awards, including at the California State Fair. I am an uber handy man with a work shop full of tools and can fix almost anything. I will admit that nowadays I am less inclined to undertake major chores like brake jobs and heavy work around the house. (I could, but just don’t want to). I have been married twice, both times for 13 years. I’m still pondering what, if anything, that means. I like some private time, but don't much like living alone, which is what I'm doing now. This is the first time in more than thirty years that I have only myself to look out for. I guess, in a way, that's exciting but it just doesn't feel right and I would rather have someone to enjoy the new found freedom with. It's just too quiet at home. I guess I miss the commotion from family and pets. I would like to find an attractive lady who believes, as I do, that the best approach to life is to take it head on with an ally, friend, and lover.
Meet a man from Chico, United States. Hi, I'm a self-motivated explorer of Life's many
magical gift's waiting to be "seen and felt" each
and every moment, without being very concerned
about ever figuring it out. My 'body' may have
travelled 63 years of many extremes, but my
spirit is foremost in my mostly "ageless" view
and feeling of the incredible joy of being...
I'm looking to be with someone who's most
interested in knowing the "truth" of what they are...
