I’ll do my best…..I’m originally from Salem, Oregon, and have lived in the South bay for over 10 years now. (although I don’t believe I’d ever consider myself a local). I'm a guy's guy...I like watching sports , playing sports, being active and outdoors. When I drink, I drink whiskey or beer....not wine (not that there's anything wrong with that of course). I enjoy camping, skiing, hiking, fishing (although there isn't any in the bay area), college/NFL football (Go Beavers!), and my weekly poker game with friends. I'm happy to stay in and watch a movie too though, as long as it isn't a romantic comedy (I am open to negotiation here though). I'd be thrilled to find a woman I could share similar interests with, although maybe not all of them, that might be a bit weird :)
That said, I have two real passions in life that have taken precedence of late: raising my 15 month old daughter, and my career as a biology/physiology teacher at a local High School..... I’d describe myself as extremely laid back, patient person who’s not particularly shy, but reserved until comfortable in any given situation.
My siblings and I were raised in a loving home with wonderful parents who taught us the difference between right and wrong, how to solve problems/disagreements without yelling and saying hurtful things. They modeled selflessness, responsibility, and respect at all times. These qualities seem to be lost in society these days (particularly among men), but this is what I'm looking for in a partner. Based on my experience, one's family and upbringing speak volumes in this regard.
Ideally I'd also be interested in meeting someone who has a calm, yet fun personality, a sense of humor, is reasonably intelligent, kind, and honest. I know nobody's perfect, but if you're high strung, controlling, irritable, lazy, dishonest, or bat sh*t crazy, I'm out.....and oh yeah, and if it takes you less than an hour to get ready to go somewhere that's a big plus!

Im really anticipating the day I have a family. I love kids and can't wait to meet the right man that can be a father my future kids. I used to live in Florida and would like to move back in the next few years. (parents are aging and real estate is cheap) This is not set in stone but I miss it tremendously and I am hoping to meet someone that loves pool time, boating, jet skiing, tubing and laying in sugar like sand that would consider a move like that. I have a daughter that is 12. I have a older son also. I have been single for 6 years. The last year I was taking care of my parents who just passed away. That was really hard. Moved to the South Bay for my job. On my days off you would likely find me hiking the peninsula hills, biking, spending the day in Santa Cruz, meeting up with friends in SF, or baking a pie. I enjoy a great read as well as a good cheesy movie... although it's a shame when a good book has been turned into a cheesy movie, funny how that works. I love going to concerts and try to catch a show as often as I can; punk, rock, funk, blue-grass, or anything that I can jump up-and-down to works for me.
When I'm not jumping up and down at concerts, I'm also into running and hiking. I run along a trail near my house a couple times a week. I run for fun and it's a great way to unwind after work. The hiking in this area is amazing and I'm always looking to try out a new trail. In addition to local hikes I love backpacking and go for a week every summer in Yosemite.
I'm equal parts silly and serious; I eat way too many gummy bears and NPR is always on in the car. I'm a pretty mellow person. I love to laugh and appreciate a good sense of humor.
