I recently underwent a career change; I was in private practice for over 25 years, and recently have closed that practice to work in a major metropolitan hospital, taking care of the underserved patients in Los Angeles. I recently have been honored with a position to teach residents from Harbor/UCLA hospitals.
I have two lovely daughters in college; one of them is going to be going to law school soon. I am divorced, and have a fairly amicable relationship with my daughters' mother.
I have been "alone" for almost 20 years. While it made practicing medicine easier, it has never been my favorite way to live. My daughters have always been close; if I had to be a "Disneyland Dad", I decided early on to be a great one.......our week-ends together were terrific for my daughters and me. We really did go to Disneyland.
I am looking for someone with whom to share the rest of my life. My ideal mate would be self-confident, attractive to me, and centered. I would expect her to be equally awesome in the boardroom or in the bedroom. She would have a genuine interest in making the world a better place because she is here. She would have a faith in a higher power, but would not necessarily have to let everyone know about it. She would be interesting and interested. She would be smarter than I am, which means smart enough not to let me know it.
I seem to be a "serial monogamist." While I enjoy dating for datings own sake, I would prefer to be in a committed, exclusive relationship at this point in my life. I have many things to offer the right person, and am eager to find that person.
In general, I believe others believe that I am a quiet peson. I have a wonderful sense of humor, though. I try every day to be the best I can be. I always try to leave any situation better off because I was there. I was taught the typical Midwestern values...If someone needs something, you give it to them. If you don't have it to give to them, you go find it.
