Date single man from Boulder Creek, United States. i live an adventurous life in the mountains, deserts, air, and oceans, but can be happy with a good book and a glass of wine, or watching sunsets at sea. I do not enjoy the popular team sports. I do enjoy nature awareness and tracking and bird watching. I have sailed all along the west coast and Caribbean and around Florida and the Bahamas in both small and big boats. I have been a pioneering participant in rock and ice climbing, skiing, sky diving, sailing, and SCUBA diving in many parts of the world.
A common thread throughout my life has been searching to understand the relationship between the spiritual and physical worlds; but am no longer involved with any formal religious practices. I hesitate to use the term Spiritual, because the term is commonly so badly misunderstood and carries so much strange baggage. I use the term only to introduce the subject, not to define it. I have participated in laboratory studies of intelligence and neurophysiology; but my real laboratory for understanding these subjects has been wilderness adventure sports and nature awareness. I still enjoy using the skills of these sports, but have slowed down and generally maintain a comfortable safety margin.
I believe in reverence for all life. I do not believe the animal kingdom to be inferior to the human race. And I do not believe there is a major distinction between plants and animals in regards to spiritual awareness. I find that all living things respond very well to being treated as people. I am very concerned by the way our economic agricultural, industrial, military, social political system is being managed.
I believe our species designation as Homo Sapiens is incorrect, because we really don't know much. A more honest designation would be Homo Hubris. We have much to learn...
A common thread in my professional career has been pioneering in designing and building frameworks for managing complex systems, ranging from modeling natural environments to software for managing the International Space Station. I teach university classes on designing and developing virtual worlds for systems thinking; and other classes on nature awareness.
I have many wonderful friends around the world. I am searching for a companion in the conversation of learning.
Meet men and women from Boulder Creek, United States. I'm a smart, funny musician with a slightly warped sense of humor who works in the telephone industry to support his musical habit.
I'm honest to a fault. With me, what you see is what you get, I'm loyal, dependable and I have a very strong moral sense of doing the right thing by people.
I love finding humor in most things, having been influenced by the Marx brothers and Mad magazine, and I have a wicked and sometimes bawdy wit.
I am a gifted songwriter, and I record and write many varied kinds of music, including classical. I also play guitar, bass, piano, dulcimer, banjo, mandolin and I just bought a cello.
Classical, pop, folk, comedy and children's are among the many kinds of music I've done. George Harrison once said to never let people down when they are counting on you. I live by this. Most of my friends are either teachers or musicians. This is not a requirement. I have two grown children. I am looking to meet new people who I can laugh and play with and maybe provide me creative inspiration. I'm in good health and easy on the eyes. I am attracted to "quirky" offbeat, even nerdy types. I like "natural" low maintenance women. Being able to sing is fun, but not required.
Recently I have become a good hack psychologist, people call me for advice.
Date a soulmate from Boulder Creek, United States. I am unasuming, but stubborn, argumentative, but can be convinced if I am Wrong. I see the world as a comedy of errors, and Many times wonder just how we have survived this long, without stupidity killing us all. We must be really lucky, or really incompetent at being evil on a consistent basis. This gives me a bit of hope. Convince me I am wrong, I dare you!
