Date a man from United States. I’ve been on the hill nine years, evacuated once, dodged half a dozen fires, three major snowstorms, and assaults by critters.
Four decades of my life were spent in and around newsrooms and now I write novels. Legacy Encounter came out in 2011 and Earth’s Last Warrior this year. You can find them on the internet doing a title search.
My kids live in Texas. Hmmm…my ex is in Texas. Might make a nice country song. My wife died in 2001 from leukemia and I moved to Big Bear to be close to my daughter when her husband was in Iraq. Now they’re in Texas.
I do the Moose and American Legion newsletters here, try to keep involved with the Old Miners’ Association but the politics of the hill leaves a lot to be desired.
I belong to the Mountain Area Tea Party, our primary goal getting candidates here so our voters know who the heck is running for office. We don’t have an agenda except returning America to its Constitutional roots.
I don’t have any bills, own my home, need a new snow shovel before next winter, and don’t have a dog because I tend to get itchy and take off.
I love trains.
At this stage in my life, I’m seeking my last best friend who is a woman, hopefully with a silly sense of humor, passion for living and the common sense to tell me no when a goofy idea strikes my head.
My next book is going to be a murder mystery called “Crook & Ladder,” and will feature my friends and not-so-friendly acquaintances up here. If it goes as I hope, it should be out by Christmas; if it doesn’t, then I’ll go back to writing my children’s science fiction cliff-hanging adventure series called “The Decoder Ring Chronicles.”
That’s about it. I look forward to making a new friend who will hold my hand in the movies and hold my heart the rest of the time.
