Date people from Berkeley, United States. I am a craftsman- you may have heard of them...one of those folks who still build stuff with their hands. I have athletic as well as sedentary passions- cycling and photography, skiing and drawing, travel and music.
My free time is often spent road cycling with some buddies from the cycling club.
Don't watch TV but love Netflix On Demand so I can watch a comedy, indie flick, or hisorical drama according to my mood. I can build a house or a piece of furniture or remodel residential and commercial buildings. My favorite is the Craftsman period, 20's-30's. Long term goals are to invest in real estate and build a house for us...
My Dad, although a Stanford Professor, was and chef and home winemaker, and I carry on some of his traditions. Most of my family are musicians- I'm probably the least talented but I still love to play sappy love songs on the guitar.
My sweet, creative 15 yr old son lives with me and he's a better musician than me too!
"Even after all this time, the sun never says to the earth,"You owe me." Look what happens with a love like that. It lights up the whole sky."
Hafiz
Me: monogamous, intense, passionate, thoughtful, romantic
fit, curious, affectionate. I can dance!
You: athletic, warm, goofy creative woman who has worked though her "stuff". Actually have time in your life for a relationship. Musician/singer or cyclist would be a bonus!
Ask me about: our family tradition of making wine; last summer's epic bike ride over Sonora Pass (going up was easier than coming down); wedding photography (Have been a professional photographer)
Would you be up for a cycling tour in Europe?
Meet single man from Berkeley, United States. I'm extremely easy going, mellow, on the quiet side, and comfortable to be around. My sister, who is sitting next to me, tells me I am a very sweet, kind honest person (biased?). I tend to be somewhat reserved or shy, and the true me doesn't come out right away. I've never known boredom. If anything I find there is not enough time in the day to do all I want. I'm looking for someone who is genuine, unargumentative, generous in spirit, someone who likes the simple things in life and gets joy out of everyday life.
I enjoy gardening, fixing things, noodling with computers, music, and especially traveling whenever possible. I do enjoy mellow hiking and biking, but am not obsessed. Not so much into the bar scene or partying all night.
I was born in Brooklyn, and moved out to the Bay Area in 1982. My New Yawk accent is long gone. I am self employed so I have the luxury of working when I want.
I'm not into the games, or high maintenance types. Also, I'm looking for the real deal. if you're here because you've had a recent breakup, or there is any possibility you might get back together with a former partner, click NEXT.
Hmm....will add more in a bit.
Date someone special from Berkeley, United States. I believe people find me funny (mostly dry wit) but I also can be serious (but not deadly). I have a knack for making people feel at ease, but also have a reputation for speaking frankly (not in a hurtful way). I am athletic (I mostly cycle and swim), have a secure job and have been a painter for many years. I am attracted to others when there is a possibility of moving fluidly into sharing intimacies because I find the process of revealing between two people very rewarding, and truth be told, kind of sexy.Finding someone with whom I can be goofy and irreverent is my goal.
I am looking for someone who values being active outside and is trying to find that sweet spot where body and mind are working in tandem, has achieved some success and security in their professional life, has an interest in the arts, and most importantly, values knowing themselves.
After a long committed relationship I am moving back into dating. While another committed relationship is likely in my future, I also know that enduring relationships build up slowly over time. I guess thats a way of saying that everyone starts in the same place, meeting to see if there is an attraction, and then working out together whatever follows.
I haven't posted a photo because I am a little hesitant professionally to make myself so visible to anyone who just digitally happens by. If you are interested, I'd be happy to send one your way.
Meet a soulmate from Berkeley, United States. I love my kids. I love my work. I love yoga, dance and martial arts. I love to be goofy and make people laugh. I love to connect with people on a deeper level. I love the feeling of freedom when I bank my Harley on a curve.
I hate describing myself.
I believe that you never know what someone is thinking and that is probably a good thing. I believe that you get back what you put in and that applies to almost everything. I believe that both you and I will know within 10 minutes of meeting whether we would want to meet again. So....
Date a man from Berkeley, United States. I'm non-materialistic and live simply, vegetarian and mostly vegan, usually ride my bicycle for transportation. I run almost every day and like the feeling of being in good shape. I enjoy lectures, reading, and learning. I'm politically liberal. I’m concerned about the state of our country and world. I think it’s important to do what we can to make things better. I enjoy traveling. I lived in Germany for six months and visited many countries in Europe as well as China, Egypt, and Russia. I'm very independent and find it easy to spend lots of time alone. But also enjoy doing things with people.
I'm seeking someone smart, independent, health conscious, and kind. Ideally someone who enjoys working out (biking, running, or something else) and would enjoy going on shared bike rides, hikes, or other outdoor exercise. A partner for mutual support and honest feedback, and in helping to make the world a better place in whatever way we can.
Meet men and women from Berkeley, United States. I am a good man happy going left people have lots of energy love outdoors like to exercise rollerblade walk to Marina I would like to have somebody who enjoys outdoors and cuddling on a rainy day I enjoy taking vacations cruise ship I enjoy dining out and cook a good barbecue meal.
Date a soulmate from United States. I love my life, and I feel so grateful for all that makes it so rich and gratifying. I enjoy meeting new people, hearing their stories, finding connections. I like our differences, and I like that ultimately our experience is rooted in our shared humanity, with all its foibles and all its wonder. I value the many authentic relationships I have with people in my life. I feel very blessed.
I was lucky to have a solid, loving relationship with my husband for many years until his death three years ago from cancer. This experience was, of course, extremely difficult, and it also left me stronger and more grounded than IРІР‚в„ўve ever been. I know whatРІР‚в„ўs important, and I donРІР‚в„ўt sweat the small stuff.
After the past few years of significant life changesgrowth, I’m excited about new possibilities of friendship, relationship,…whatever comes my way. I have a good sense of humor and an accepting approach to life. I’m passionate, resourceful, and open-minded.
On the deeper stuff, I consider myself a spiritual person though not religious. I trust my intuition and have faith that things work out. I notice and appreciate synchronicity and find that it happens a lot in my life.
IРІР‚в„ўm from New York, and after thirty years in the Bay Area, IРІР‚в„ўm a true combination of both coasts; the NY edge with that РІР‚?synchronicityРІР‚в„ў awareness. I have two children, one in college and one entering high school. I love spending time with them. I also feel lucky to have many loving, supportive friends and a wonderful extended family. While IРІР‚в„ўm a social person, I also like having time to myself.
Integrity is important to me. ItРІР‚в„ўs an ongoing process to be true to myself on as many levels as I can. My commitment to social justice includes working toward acceptance, tolerance, inclusion, and respect in our world.
While IРІР‚в„ўm not looking for a laundry list of qualities or values, the things that are most important to me in a partner are humor, emotional intelligence, warmth, and a good heart. ItРІР‚в„ўs about play and fun and fit. It's about the imperfect package that we all are. All of this is just preamble to a conversation waiting to happen.
Meet someone special from United States. Here goes, a shot in the dark . . . .Are you there?
It would be easy for me to be happy with what I have - I have amazing kids, wonderful friends, an interesting job, I love where I live and my dog thinks I'm the best ever. But aren't we all meant to have a special person in our lives? I know that I am. I'd like to find a guy with a big brain and even bigger heart. Someone who likes to think and read and talk and laugh. On the practical level, someone who lives in the Bay Area; I'm not looking for a long-distance relationship. So if you live more than an hour's drive away, don't be offended, but I'm not your match.
Of course, it's not as simple as that. Work and kids take a lot of my time and energy and will for the next few years. I have a lot to give the right guy, but I might not be a great fit for someone who's looking for 24/7 company. But I am looking for something serious and meaningful and I'm certainly open for a long-term relationship. While I tend to be pretty busy, I like to think of myself as I'm low-maintenance and high-quality.
And how about yourself?
Date people from United States. I am hoping to find a Jewish man who enjoys the usual: movies, traveling, trying new restaurants, light hikes (up to 8 miles), and concerts. I have two grown children who are my pride and joy, and I expect my "date" to also have children who he cares about very much. I enjoy getting dressed up, but I don't expect men to get quite as dressed up--no slobs though. Of course, having a positive life outlook and a good sense of humor is essential. I often forget the punch lines when I tell jokes, so I am counting on my "date" to help me out here!
Meet a woman from United States. How would close friends describe me (I asked them): Fun-loving, easy-going, intelligent and a quick study, a creative mind, equally adept at deep conversation and light-hearted play, capable of being both very smart/funny and naive/clueless, patient, independent, a free-spirit, positive, enthusiastic, bubbly, generous, sincere, ....
What makes me smile: a beautiful morning, a rainbow, nature, a good joke (sometimes bad jokes too), unprompted gestures of gentleness, dogs at play, good friends and flirts (well, usually).
I am grateful for good friends and family, physical and financial health, enjoyable work, and much more.
I am an adventurous, learning soul. I am curious about cultures, customs, and people - music, food, language, and stories. I would rather sit on a back porch listening/telling stories than attend a cocktail party and yet I do very much enjoy an occasional night on the town. I believe in service to others - currently I'm mentoring a high schooler from Africa.
I love time in nature - mostly walking. I love the mountains and the beach is nice too. I don't get away as much as I would like. I also enjoy my daily urban life - walking to BART, theatre, music, great restaurants, and more. I'm somewhat a creature of habit - especially my early morning walk, my pilates class and my morning Peets soy latte.
What I'm looking for? A man who is kind, intelligent, happy, balanced, gentle yet strong, self-aware, patient, curious, compassionate toward himself and others, tolerant, flexible... spiritually inclined, open at the top, able to be spontaneous...
Date men and women from California, United States. I'd describe myself as traditional with an edge, friendly, quirky, outgoing, adventurous yet cautious. Love to be spontaneous. Can wear dresses and jeans. The world beckons so I love to travel near and far. I've been known to converse well on most subjects. A Cal and Giants fan from way back. Socially liberal. I own a coffee and chocolate cafe as well as serve on non-profit boards in the East Bay servicing underprivileged youth - I kind of like the juxtaposition of savoring and saving life!
My kind of guy: Do you have a twinkle in your eye, a love of life, like thought provoking and stimulating conversation, have similar though not necessarily identical interests? Do you have a healthy sense of humor (sarcastic is ok), are kind and thoughtful? Are you comfortable in your skin, donРІР‚в„ўt take yourself too seriously, and are you a glass half-full kinda guy who knows how to have fun in life? Then send out a message and let's see what happens..
Meet a soulmate from California, United States. I'm looking for someone that sees the fullness in the moment. Someone that hasn't made too many conclusions, and is okay with not knowing. I don't have a preconceived idea about who this person is, what they look like, or what they do - but I'm sure I'll know when I meet him.
Things I enjoy include cooking, oil painting, walking/hiking, live music, reading, yoga, gardening (although I'm restricted to a couple of flower boxes currently), writing (there's a book in me waiting to come out) and hanging with my two cats and my African Grey parrot. I'm also easily amused by life and don't need to do anything. I also enjoy watching people. For that reason I enjoy riding BART. There's a microcosm of humanity in every car.
I enjoy entertaining and vibrant conversation. Experiencing the fullness of love in the room when friends gather together. I love to cook.
I have an great interest in Chinese Medicine and have gotten several certifications in various styles of Asian massage and acupressure. But professionally, I'm a recruiter in the technology sector.
My "spiritual life" is of high importance to me. I'm not affiliated with a religion.. I meditate daily. Attend satsang. And I go to a couple of silent retreats every year. Someone that isn't willing to look deeply within themselves isn't going to be a good match for me. Authenticity is paramount. If you have strong "beliefs" you also won't be a good match for me. Being a fundamentalist in any area of life is not my cup o tea. But I do love a good cup of tea!
I was a vegetarian for many years, but became an omnivore again this year. However I still cook with a heavy hand toward veggie cuisine. I'm a bit of a foody too. Love a good glass of Chardonnay.
My taste in music is all over the map. But I will say I generally dislike rap and twangy country. Anything else is fair game, especially when done with passion. I don't watch much TV any more. I like odd indie films and any movie that really makes me think deeply. But sometimes I like to watch something silly and brain dead. I don't care for team sports, but going to a live baseball game can be a fun experience - for reasons other than the game itself. I should mention that If you're a "sit on the sofa all weekend watching sports" kinda guy, sorry, won't work.
I moved to the East Bay the beginning of the year after 15 years in the redwoods above Santa Cruz. Right now Berkeley is "home" and I'm loving it here. Lot's to experience.
If you're still reading at this point, and aren't making funny faces, you should send me an email.
