Thank you for stopping by. This is where I'm supposed to tell you who I am and what I'm looking for in a few short paragraphs. Not enough time and not enough space, as we all know, but here are a few things that are important to me.
I've always been drawn toward the lady who has made the effort to live life to its fullest as opposed to watching life pass them by. Those who put themselves out there and take a chance whether you've won or lost. I subscribe to the theory that our losses are often what make us more well rounded people anyway.
A willingness to communicate openly and honestly is the only way to get to know one another. (Perhaps a small token of that honesty might be a current photograph somewhere within your profile.) If you are the type that likes to respond to a question with more than a one word answer then it might be fun to get to know you.
I support and volunteer for causes that are important to me like the ALS Association, any fight against cancer, St Judes Children's Hospital, Smile Train, Klaas Kids and searches for the missing, etc.
Exercise has been a staple in my life since childhood and remains so today. But, unlike my younger days, exercise does not consume my life and I am fine with missing a few days here and there. I am excited by a lady who takes pride in her appearance and her health. A woman who is not a stranger to challenging her physical limitations regularly. My hope is that you don't feel the need to look or dress like the majority in our chronological age group just because at some point in your life someone told you middle aged people are supposed to look a certain way. Believe it or not, long hair and form fitted clothing still looks good on women in our age group.
I tend to be reserved by nature but I've always found it a most enjoyable fit to be partnered with someone who is playful, animated and even a goof ball at times. Someone who keeps me on my toes guessing at what they are going to come up with next. Hopefully, there will also be a serious and mature side of you that knows the right time to make an appearance.
A moderate amount of travel, both in the U.S. and abroad, has been a life long goal and I am finally in a position to fulfill some of those goals. An ideal partner would have a similar desire to visit new places and an interest in experiencing different cultures. One of my favorite things to do when traveling is to venture away from the tourist areas and into the common areas to see firsthand how people of the region live. These side trips often rejuvenate feelings of appreciation for so many things in life.
I am attracted to a woman who knows she is beautiful but doesn't feel the need for constant validation of that beauty from everyone around her. In other words, not high maintenance.

have you even had a moment when you felt a warm glow from a piece of music, touched by a movie or story or seen something wonderful or amazing that you just ached to share with someone who could really share that moment with you? someone who with just a touch or a look lets you know they get it too? someone who knows you so well that they will cherish you even at your worst and believe in you no matter what comes? and who you couldn't imagine your life without? perhaps there are those who are here for some other reasons than these... but i have to believe there might be someone like that, like me, here for such reasons...and maybe, just maybe, there might be enough magic left in the world for us to find each other... perhaps even here...

being willing, participating, recognizing magic when it comes to us and having the courage to say yes, that that while being a good observer is part of life, that life is an active thing, you may get your hands dirty or your heart broken, yet life is so much more than just getting through the challenges and making a living and raising our children, there is wonder and beauty all around us, live life like you mean it, there will never enough time to do it again... and there is nothing in the world better than being in love and being loved by your best friend....
I want to build a life with the a partner/friend/lover and have history and traditions and memories to share and cherish. the right lady will be one i can spend the rest of my life spoiling without her ever becoming spoiled...not so much with money or things, but with intimacy and love...
timing is very important...i realize that those of us who have reached this point in life have some bruises, i have my own, you likely have yours, but if we really want to have the things that so many of these posts say they want we have to have healed enough to be able to look ahead and go with your feelings where ever they may take you/us without seeing the past in our future
people ask "why is this so hard (to meet and have a great relationship)" and i suspect that at least part of the answer is that by this time most of us have formed an idea of what we want, have had a few relationships before and aren't ready to settle for something less than what will work for more than a couple of months...

To keep myself busy I have books and magazines to spend away my time, doing household chores for I am widowed now.
