I like opening doors for people, saying 'Bless you' when someone sneezes and saying 'thank you' for the even the smallest kindnesses. My pleasures are simple - I do volunteer work regularly, enjoy good food and take pride in 'doing the right thing.' Nothing makes me happier than surprising a friend with flowers or a small gift to say how much I appreciate her.
I am a very open minded person as well. I like learning about other cultures and enjoy reading travel books. Ideally I would like to visit the places I read about, but I would prefer to not travel alone. I have hitch-hiked around Ireland, swam with sea turtles in Barbados and sipped cold beers at sunset on the beach in Mexico and and Belize. I went as far west as I could, but the Pacific Ocean was in the way, so I landed in Santa Cruz County where I have lived and worked ever since. On an average workday, I'm a lawyer in Santa Cruz. My job brings me to all parts of the Bay Area. I also lead a weekly group exercise class and present lectures to local businesses about workers' compensation and employment issues.
I'm a musician. I play 5 instruments and I sing. Classical, blues, rock, everything except boring country.
I've done some acting and stage work. I drove Santa Cruz Metro bus in the early '90s and I'm sure I drove some of the passengers more crazy than they already are. I've played in a rock-and-roll band, and I currently sing in a choir. I've had just about every job you can imagine. Currently, I am a Board Member of Save Our Shores, a Santa Cruz-based local non-profit dedicated to clean beaches, ocean preservation and reduction and elimination of the use of post-consumer products like styrofoam and plastics.
