Date men and women from California, United States. Besides being really tall, most people are startled by my very unique and melodic voice. Someone once said I sound like a white Barry White. Most folks think I look 10 years younger. I’m confident with a dash of shyness at first, then very friendly, outgoing and always caring of others. My closest friends say I’m a great guy. Heck who am I to argue.

When I’m around friends, we enjoy lengthy conversations about what really matters. Most times I just listen. Money or possessions are never the focus. Since I don’t play games, my best friends can read me like a book.

The outdoors, health and fitness are important to me. I go to the gym and/or play tennis almost every day. When I’m not working out, I love to invent (3 patents) and build stuff; anything; whether it’s made out of wood or metal. Or I help my son build something that he hopes will go boom. We both enjoy watching MythBusters… go figure. I love to walk and talk; either at the local Lafayette reservoir or even the incredibly beautiful Steep Ravine above Stinson Beach.

Music is a major part of my relax time. I enjoy all forms of music, including classical, smooth jazz, pop and R&B. I’ve even started taking piano lessons (again).

Who I am looking for? You’re an attractive and confident woman considered taller than most and younger and more energetic than your real age would suggest. Perhaps a little shy at first but you can get into a conversation easily feeling comfortable around nice folks. You focus on the positive while remembering the negative. Your laugh makes me laugh. Your children are hopefully at least in high school. You’re financially stable and live near the Berkeley, Lamorinda & Walnut Creek-ish area so that both planned and last minute gatherings are uncomplicated by traffic/distance and enhanced by places we both have frequented and enjoyed in the past. It will also make any goofs (i.e. by sudden parental responsibilities) less of a problem. Sure there is that “heat” that may become immediately evident, but living nearby will allow our relationship and trust to grow together.

I’m always willing to continue to learn and you are too. I’ve played local competitive tennis all my life, but now it’s just for fun, charity events and giggles. If you play at any level, great! If not, no worries. But I hope you’d be willing to learn. And that goes for me too…. with one tweak… if you already ski the West Face or the Gun Barrel, I hope you’ll allow me to take the Saddle or other trail and meet you at the bottom. Besides, it’s the end of a great day of skiing in front of a warm fire and a glass of wine that’s really the best part.

Our life together would be full and exciting while taking care of our families. We would travel to a quiet romantic beach or other exotic places like The Southern Ocean Lodge in Australia. That place is definitely now on my “list”.

Meet a soulmate from California, United States. Most people would say that I'm very active. I travel a lot, last week I was in rural Illinois, this week I'll be in Miami, continuing to Delaware (where I own a home), Harrisburg, Boston and Ontario (California). I have, so far, had a varied life, first as a geek (research engineer), then a big corporate executive, then a writer, then a consultant and, ten years ago, I found my current calling. I any case I am planning, in a couple of years, to cut back on workshops (I teach Leadership), do more traveling for fun and focus more on writing, both fiction and non-fiction. I'd like to have a dog again, with my current travel that isn't possible or fair. If I find the right woman and it makes more sense, I can bring forward the transition to the next stage.
My life is fulfilling except that I miss being in a relationship. In recent years I haven't really tried 'dating' - my travel got in the way. So later this year I've deliberately carved out times for 'fun' activities and, I hope, some of that time will be in pursuing a relationship. I know that it will be an unusual woman who will be attracted to my current lifestyle, on the road half the time and possibly a bi-coastal existence. A favorite hobby of mine is bbqing occasionally at a few Guglielmo Winery weekend events in Morgan Hill. At some of them, I manage the preparation and serving of all the food. The last one was Cork Equity (bottle your own wine) May 19. Next, I will be pouring wine at the Gilroy Garlic Festival July 27, 28, and 29.
I also host BBQ’s for family and/or friends, at which I cook most of the food. (I could always use some help. ) I would enjoy helping you set up for a party that you host. Most of all, I would enjoy just the 2 of us preparing a dinner for ourselves to enjoy along with a bottle of wine.
A great time was had on a weeklong trip to Honduras in May 2008. I just returned from another trip there in Oct 2011. I visited the cigar factory that I am involved with, and met many of the people that I am dealing with over the phone, or email, on a regular basis. Many of the pics shown are from that trip. I will be going back, and would like to take you with me. In addition to cigar importing and distribution, I am also treasurer of the Morgan Hill Cigar shop, but I don't actually work in the shop. I also have a number of clients whose accounting I take care of.
Short trips of 2-4 days can be fun. A road trip would be great. My passport is active.
Ice Hockey and football are my favorite sports. While it would be great to find someone who also enjoys them, it isn't necessary.

I am a musician, and have been since I was 8. I got my first paying job when I was 9. In college, in New York City, I was on TV, radio, and played in recording studios and at famous venues with famous people. I left the business because I could see where it most often led: to a premature death from drugs or alcohol. Today, I teach for 5 different cities in the East Bay,both classes and private lessons, and never have to travel. I play golf in the morning and work only from mid-afternoon to early evening, Monday through Thursday, 40 weeks out of the year. I can retire any time I want, but I enjoy what I do.
What I am looking for here is a woman who can be made happy by simple, everyday things rather than what I am seeing in so many of the profiles I have looked at: a person without a soul who needs an endless stream of consumer goods and travel in order to be stimulated because there is nothing at the center of their being. When I wake up and look out the window and see the California sunshine, I feel exactly as I did on any summer vacation morning when I was a child in dreary upstate New York: Oh boy, I get to go out and play all day. They will have to come and drag me back to the house to eat lunch. Then I (in the present) go to the golf course and enjoy being alive. I have tried to structure my life to be pleasing as it is by eliminating the things I don't want to do. Every day already is a vacation for me. Is there anyone out there who has learned that the secret is to find contentment rather than thrills and then just subtract everything from your life that adds stress and doesn't bring contentment? If you can only drive 1 car at a time, why does anyone need 3 BMW's?
