Date a man from California, United States. How does one begin? I am not certain who I want to meet here, but I do know I have not her elsewhere. Still, you know who you are, so I will tell you a bit about me. For the record, the photo was taken Nov. ’03, I am fifty (sounds strange) but I am often mistaken for someone considerably younger. I am fit and active: cycling, skiing, hiking, mountaineering, and just out and moving. My job is demanding and I like it most of the time, but it does not define me, and perhaps as importantly, I enjoy extended vacations, allowing me time for travel and skiing (29 days at Mammoth last year.) I read obsessively and with passion—literature, history, criticism, some poetry. And, while I am certainly a skeptic, I can be shaken and deeply moved by ideas, beautiful language, or essential humanity. Friends and colleagues comprise my adopted family, but I spend much of my time alone. Solitude is often lovely, and I enjoy my own company, but I miss the intimacy—physical and emotional—of a close and loving relationship. I am a sensualist and a romantic who has not replaced his libido with career or addiction; nothing stirs me quite like the furtive smile of a pretty woman. But, as this is our first (albeit virtual) meeting, perhaps I should save a bit of mystery for a real world rendezvous.Bright, funny, sensual, ironic (without bitterness), passionate about something, engaged in the world, thoughtful and thinking, calm and self aware in—perhaps—a slightly bent and edgy kinda way. Adventurous and nesting. Emotionally and physically available; likes (loves) their work, but has time for other people, e.g., me. Intellectually curious and sexy; which is pretty much the same thing. An active woman who enjoys the outdoors, used bookstores, and flea markets—in Cuzco and on Fairfax. Often unafraid, and moody is ok if you don't mind being mercilessly teased. Not least of all, libidinous when inspired, or for reasons all her own.

Of course by today’s standards that might be considered limiting yourself but I don’t see it that way, it’s just being unpretentious, plus you must give him a little grace as back then you didn’t have the motivational speakers around to fire you up. Olive Oyl saw something in him anyway, and she’s not a bad looking gal.
Hopefully humor was picked up on there, which I consider one of my strong points (others believe my onus), but on the flip side, when time to get serious, I can be thoughtful and sympathetic to a fault. In general I am “old school” which, when it’s time to get something done, the determination, perseverance and all those things annoying about old school take over. Do know how to have fun when it’s time though.
Next, I’ll work on who I’m looking for, clueless right now.

I'm not one of those kind of fellows that balances his contacts with an Excel report. Because you girls are so complicated, if I don't focus on one at a time I don't feel I'm doing justice. Relationships require building trust and being best friend... so I think a fun date would be riding bikes along the coast, followed by wine tasting and then if we're comfortable, out to a romantic dinner on the coast.

I like being healthy so I bike for 3 hours twice a week, work out, and ride my horses in the State Park that borders my ranch
I'd love it If you would join me riding my Arabian horses...I enjoy competing in long distance Endurance Races and I'm hoping to train in Dressage. (That's like making horses dance.)
I use to play in Jazz Orchestras so I enjoy finding an out of the way restaurant with a talented Jazz musician playing.
