Since my formative years growing up in Manhattan (still with an East Coast edge, but perhaps a bit enlightened (LOL)), I am drawn to a wide range of experiences - be it talking to strangers, hopping on a bus in a foreign country without knowing where it is going for the experience, driving a taxi in NYC, trekking in the Himalayas, befriending a wide diverse group of people, spelunking in New Zealand, meditation retreats in India, learning about how to make different types of pottery, or personal development experiences. I feel very fortunate and have a lot of gratitude. Usually thought to be much younger than my age (looks and personality), I am 56 and I used a younger age so as to not be excluded from your consideration if you used a search engine with an age cut-off. Traveling is a good metaphor for how I approach life- I travel with minimal itineraries, leaving myself open to the serendipity of discovery. Enjoying the feeling of being untethered, I have traveled extensively, especially in Asia. Favorites include Laos, Cambodia, India (spent 5 months there), Galapagos, and the Amazon. I was in Maui recently and I am hoping that one of you reading this can help me to understand why the highways in Hawaii are called "Interstates"? In seeking out new experiences, Esalen, Harbin Hot Springs, photography workshops, art lectures, and wine courses are a few of the things I enjoy. I grew up in Manhattan and love cultural experiences.
I’ve been living in SF for ~2 years and love hole-in-the-wall eateries as well as great restaurants across the ethnic spectrum, art galleries, museums, long walks, bike riding, hiking, live music (jazz, vocalists, classical, eclectic...), dance performances, ballet, symphony, movies, comedy clubs, sunsets, photography, the ocean.

My parents built the homes I grew up in and instilled the values of education and hard work which probably explains why I like taking on challenging physical and artistic projects.....when I was younger, in addition to my regular career, one of my hobbies was to buy fixer houses and turn them into the nicest house on the block. I'm not just another pretty face, I can fix stuff.
I actually have learned to enjoy the gym and try to go most days, some days twice....I'm really not OCD (at least not clinically) but I have goals that I'm working toward. I credit my encouraging workout instructors for not letting me cheat on the planks. I go to the farmers market weekly and try to cook mostly healthy. I believe in moderation and try to do the right things, but hey, who doesn't want a pizza or ice cream every once in awhile. What's important is that we both support each others healthy habits and goals.
Music has literally been in my life since 1st grade chorus...Santa brought a guitar years later and I drove my parents crazy...after college I started playing in pubs and later in professional bands as a hobby. I still love playing but these days the venues have been confined to my music room... I guess you could say that music is my "thing". It doesn't matter what it is, but you have a "thing" too....
I love to travel locally and overseas and could tell you about all the places I've been, but what's really important is that you have the desire and time to travel as well. I wanted to combine my love of camping with domestic travel, so it made sense to get an RV. It's not rock star calibre but it's all about being comfortable these days and it's got a booming stereo...and you can have the closet.
I live in an old, established neighborhood near the best ice cream parlor in town...Old houses are great but there's always something.....a few years ago I got tired of looking at shrubs and weeds so I totally renovated my backyard and built a studio. I would rather have a pool but in these older neighborhoods, the utilities run underground through the backyards....so if you have a pool, you've suddenly become more attractive.....
If a guy could have a wish list, this would be mine....You're the girl next door.....relatively consistent but undeniably reliable.... level headed and smart but you still manage to laugh at my corny jokes, you're classy but not overly vain.
