Date a man from California, United States. Shared experiences, or at least shared memories. That's what I'm looking for. By that, I mean maybe you went away to camp, or vacationed in the Hamptons with your family while mom was taking my sister and me back to Fullerton/Brea to go to Disneyland and Knott's Berry Farm. I miss the mules. But what made growing up in the 60's that strange, not quite idylic era, we both see fondly through our rose colored filter. I now go to the Hamptons every week 'Royal Pains' is on. Most people seem to be all about living in the now, but I think that you need to apply an infinite quality to looking back, ahead or at the present.
I love movies and music, and lyrics and dialog are always popping into my mind, (recently heard songs frequent my headline) and in relation to situations. I grew up with an older sister with some extremely adorable friends, so when I heard something that they were looking for in a guy, it usually made an impression. Come to think of it, a couple of my friends had some pretty nice sisters, too! I have been learning a lot and improving my general carpentry skills the last 4 years, low-e windows last year.Now am in middle of the beginning of thoroughly remodeling kitchen, including windows and a 90 degree rotation of sink and enclosed pantry and appliance relocation. Not quite cabinet refacing, gulp! I'm still not ready to join the Devine Design team, be my Candace Olson.
This weather is making me think of other places, other times. I love summer storms, you don't get that here. I keep meaning to go back to Iowa, my ancestral home, but 103 in Keosauqua on the Des Moines River, I'll pass. Maybe September.

Well.....I live in Old Town Alexandria, although because my business manager/accountant in San Francisco (area code 94111) pays my credit card, Match lists me in that area code. I'm indeed in the movie business, so people always ask, "Why are you not living in LA?". Well, I currently, I'm involved in a movie that will be shooting in Europe plus other films and TV, so it was easy for me to spend here. I do have a second residence in San Francisco, which I do not frequent much anymore. That's my geography. Now for my soul: I hope that you find me compassionate, interesting, and special. I have had a great ride through life - fine upbringing, good education, and a fairly fascinating career that has allowed me to see many things and meet fabulously interesting people - some I'd like to see again, and others...well...whoa (behind every People Magazine profile is an adventure!). Oh, also since some women ask why if I'm a film director I'm not dating actresses, etc. Well, I don't date anyone I work with or have the potential to work with - simple as that. Of course, that makes me a "big brother" to some, and when they get in trouble or challenged, I get the panicked phone call. I also do not gab to the press, which makes me a target for referrals....so I get panicked phone calls from people I don't even know! True! LOL.
Let's see, background? Grew up in Europe (American parents), lived in Hawaii and California, as I've mentoned. While I've spent a lot of time in the Washington DC, I do have a "Western spirit" - a little more smile with even serious things, which hopefully you'll enjoy. Should I go back to talking about profession? OK, just a bit. While I am in a creative field, I'm not the beatnik, indie-film-scrapping-by type. You probably can tell by my photo, I wear ties to meetings (hey, we're spending loads of money, so we should show respect to people writing the checks). I love what I do; my work is fun and affords me the finer things in life, and that's what sets the next paragraph up.
I am looking for a (wonderful) person, someone who is accomplished in her own right and is comfortable (and enjoys) a sophisticated lifestyle. I'm certainly not looking for a "trophy"...rather an equal, a true partner in life. Someone who will enjoy new pursuits, both professional and personal. A serious relationship (please, no serial daters). (I'm on match.com in order to spread my "opportunity circle", as someone called it, as I don't date employees, clients, or friends of either.) I also hope to find someone NOT AFRAID of commitment. My heart's been broken enough by a serious relationship or two when an extraordinary woman just can't pull the trigger for marriage. I am the type that when I fall in love, I give my all. There is a lot of vulnerability in that. One of my business partners said that I should play hard to get, that a woman wants a little bad boy somewhere in the soul. I told her (my biz partner; both partners are female) that it would be unfair to do so; why lure someone with being unlike who I truly am. So I don't play that game. I may be a complex fit - especially in the D.C. area - because I'm fun and witty and hopeful, plain full of life and smiles while at the same time doing serious work (I take the movies we're making as important efforts because whether it's a drama or comedy - we have both - all our work can enlarge an audience's sympathies). I'm a romantic - sometimes naively so, but I wouldn't want to change me. Anyway, now you have it.

Meet a soulmate from United States. OK, just so you know: Price Low to Hi was not my first choice of names. Obviously, Abs Of Steel or Testosto-Man, are more appropriate. But apparently, those names were already taken. So, I had to settle for another name that describes me.
So thanks for taking the time to read a little bit about myself.
For the most part, I am pretty laid back. I really don't let most things bother me. Years ago, I read this book called, "Don't Sweat The Small Stuff (and it's all small stuff)", by Richard Johnson (I think). It really affected the way I think and react. I think he is right when he says that it really is mostly all small stuff. There are truly only a few "big stuff" items For me, two of those are family and health. And those seem to get bigger as we get older. Another big ticket item is Respect. I always respect others. The way I like to sum that up is: "If is important to my partner, then it is important to me and if it is important to me, then it should be important to my partner". That is about the only other big ticket item.
OK sex. Sex is another big ticket item. Can't forget that, but I'm not going to get into those details right now. I usually save that little conversation ice breaker for the first date. It's weird how I don't get any second dates, though. Go figure.
I have 3 daughters that keep me going. One biologist, one that is on a basketball scholarship in Hawaii, and one that is in middle school that I share joint custody with my ex. People tell me that I should be very proud of them. I never really thought about it, but I guess they may be right and I am proud of them. They are a very important part of my life.
Joining Match.com was one of my 2012 New Year's resolutions. I know it's June now, and I don't want you to think that I procrastinate or anything (that's actually my annual New Year's resolution). But for whatever reason, I just kept putting it off and putting it off. I think that by joining, I was admitting to myself that I couldn't meet someone on my own. Imagine that! Me not being able to meet someone? But after 3 years, it became very obvious that I was unable to meet someone on my own.
So here I am. Good thing too. It turns out that I need all the help I can get.
The things I find attractive in a woman are a warm smile, the confidence to let herself and others, be who they are, I like women who take good care of themselves, I like women who don't take things too seriously and can laugh at themselves (and at my jokes), I like women who know their place in a relationship and can concede that they are not my equal (that's one of my jokes), I like women who like to laugh,I like women who don't mind PDA, I like women who are good communicators.
Ultimately, I am looking for someone with which to settle down and share the future. But in the meantime, I'm OK with just meeting a couple of chicks that I can just use until Summer is over. And after that, I will just discard them by adding them to the huge pile of other women whose lives I've destroyed.
I know I sound too good to be true, but that last paragraph is in there just to check and see if you are still paying attention.
So if you are still with me, that tells me that you have the patience and tolerance required to stand me for more than just a few minutes. I would love it if you just said "Hello".

I have worked hard for many years to be able to have a place of my own and live a comfortable lifestyle.I am a very level headed,easy going ,caring individual who takes pride in life and my responsibilities within it. It seems that finding this in a mate in todays crazy world is harder than i thought. I do work full time for a major medical supply co and currently run a route in the OC.I was raised in a very sports or athletic family and played for many yrs competitively.I do try to hit the gym 2-3 times a week,but not a gym rat. The Angels,Lakers,Kings,Ducks,Chargers,nascar 14 & 39 and about any other forms of sports as entertainment ,but not to let it run my life.I enjoy the beach,river - had boats for 25 yrs but not currently,Vegas,Palm Springs,San Diego and all warm weather locations like Hawaii Cabo to name a few . If you snow ski or wine taste you better count me in as the DD :-) I do pretty well on the BBQ when needed.I like most music but find myself listening or dancing to rock or country most of the time.Can you cowboy cha cha ?I am old school and do believe in opening car doors ,sending flowers,or cards and treating my partner with the up most respect. Enough about me.! Its not always about what we are doing but more so about the person you are doing it with.
