I’m highly dedicated to the �scholar-physician’ legacy, and spend much of my time reading, researching, writing, treating patients, and otherwise managing my private practice. And all of that is fun for me—except when it comes to dealing with insurance companies.
Even with all the time consumed within my profession, I welcome a partner to celebrate life outside of work.
I’ve logged many hours immersed in city nightlife. So, by now, nothing much impresses me when it comes to the latest hot spots. I’d much rather spend time exploring other aspects of the city, or be surrounded by nature. So my partner would have to be over the club scene as well, or at least be content if I don’t accompany her.
But don’t get me wrong—I have abundant energy, and can go all night, with the right person(s).
Even with my commitment to health and nourishing life, I’m practical: I enjoy gin and tonics, and the occasional cigar after grilling or golfing. It’s not often, and I never smoke alone—only when amongst good friends. It’s a bonding thing.
I used to be an engineer. Many people consider it a radical shift to be on my current path. I saw it as a necessity—for I was a bored and depressed engineer. Now, I’m truly inspired and appreciate the opportunity to interact with such a diverse crowd.

While I love L.A., I grew up in Michigan, so I love the sun, and I also love the seasons. My drive brought me out here and I�ve met some very cool people and made some great friends; most of my extended family is back there (and coming from a large family, I really know the importance and value - family matters). I dig grabbing a drink at a bar, but I'm over the bar scene (there's a Match pitch in there somewhere). I’ve produced 3 indie films that you’ve only seen if you're really into film festivals and I continue to write and work on side projects; I also run the top GMAT team in the country at a test-prep company that you’ve probably heard of. Lots of things to keep me busy and excited; I'm still looking for her though...
I’m a bit of a nerd. I’m big on movies and TV with actual story (anything by Aaron Sorkin; Casablanca is what I strive for as a writer) especially long-form stories with an edge (Game of Thrones, Walking Dead, etc. - cable shows that would never be shown on a network) and edgy comedies (If you can quote Arrested Development, then you already have a place in my heart). And, of course, Star Wars (are you actually surprised?). I like puzzles, games (not the negative-dating-stereotype kind; more like Words With Friends, bar trivia, etc.) and all the good conversation that I can find.
I tend to be hands-on with weekend activities - projects (home improvement, etc.) or flea markets, for example, but sometimes Sunday is meant to be lazy. I'm a big fan of pets; I grew up with (and miss having) dogs, but with cats, I have a bit of an allergy (and somehow cats can tell and like to get up into my business). Sorry to the cat-ladies, but it probably won’t work between you, me and your cat(s). Hiking Runyon canyon is fun in-and-of itself (seriously; even if we never meet, you should try it; however, I can sweeten the deal with a Vitamin Water of your choosing); I can also live vicariously through all the dog-walkers.
I enjoy sporting events (always keeping tabs on my Detroit and Michigan teams), chocolate mint ice-cream, smart & clever people, infectious laughter (sarcasm will not be lost on me), a hard-driving rain, the sound of waves, beach-time (and other outdoor activities), stargazing on a clear night, quirky architecture (love The Getty), suffering through another season with the Detroit Lions (things are turning around though), finding a new bar or restaurant around town, sushi and the many surprises/discoveries around LA that there are to be found.
My perfect match? There's room to play here - smart, clever and funny are all big pluses as far as I'm concerned; please have an opinion about whatever subjects come up over drinks, coffee, caramels, whatever. I think that chemistry is organic - it happens when two people get together and see what happens. I do believe that she’s out there (and if she doesn�t enjoy all the same things that I do, that�s okay; I keep an open mind and I'll try new things - except for that thing about the cats). I don’t like to use the phrase “hopeless romantic”; I prefer “hopeful romantic”. Date single man from United States. I'm still fairly new to California, but as a new transplant, I am already its biggest fan. I moved to my little beach-side house, leaving New York City behind about 3.5 years ago, and it was the best decision I've ever made in my life. I spend all my free time these days surfing (I'm getting there... I fall down considerably less than I used to) and being outdoors. I'd love to be able to share experiences like that with someone. I travel a lot, both for work and for fun. Having gone on a few vacations by myself, I've realized "yep, alone is less fun". So a travel partner-in-crime would also be ideal. Did you know I've never even been to Mammoth? Of course you didn't know that. But yeah, I need to see far more of Cali, as well as the world. I travel a bit for work, and while sometimes it's a trip to Sacramento, usually it's someplace cool, like Tokyo, Paris or Ireland. Now I'm trying to add more international travel, purely for fun. Business trips are nice, but every country looks the same from a hotel conference room.
I'm a bit of a Jack of All Trades. I really equally enjoy going to a museum or playing beach volleyball. Although never in the same place. I played basketball in college, and still try to spend my time trying new sports. I'm a huge fan of playing and listening to live music, but like most fun things, I don't make enough time to do it these days. I'd like to find someone who encourages me to spend more of my time searching out great art, new music or random new things to dive into. Fun fact: Recently, I made my own wine and it didn't poison anyone - I rate that as an enormous success. My wine: zero deaths since 2006! I also recently started taking cooking classes, mostly because I couldn't bear to make the same food for myself one day longer. In general, I just like to discover new things, and see if I can't get good at it. People with new skills fascinate me to no end. I'd love to meet someone with an interest in travel, art, music and discovering new things. If you can make me laugh, and you find me amusing, I assure you we'll get along juuuuuust fine.

I've played soccer for over half my life although it's been a couple years I last put on my cleats. I enjoy music with something interesting to say as opposed to something with just a catchy beat. I would much rather see a rockin Green Day show than a mellow Coldplay one, but have fun at both. I really enjoy meeting people from different places and cultures, not to mention trying new foods. I generally love animals and will ask to pet almost every dog I see . I have a fairly sarcastic sense of humor but also find the little things very entertaining. Loyalty and honesty are very important to me. There's not much I wouldn't do for my best friends. I've babysat children under the age of two (diapers included), flown across the country so I could turn around and drive a car back the next day . I also enjoy the outdoors, hiking in the redwoods or camping near the beach and exploring the tide pools.
I currently go to school and work full time so my free time is fairly limited. I'm looking to get to know some new people whether through the occasional cup of coffee or even texting. If it becomes more than that so much the better.
