It's a little difficult getting out of my comfort zone to write about myself, and what I'm looking for in terms of a relationship. Perhaps I should start by saying that I'm not a player, nor am I looking for a friend with benefits. I could be described as trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent - qualities you may be familiar with if you've ever known anyone in scouting. I grew up believing in them, and still live by these values today. I take care of my stuff, right down to the shoes on my feet. I like and appreciate the simple things in life. Thanks to having an awesome dad growing up, I'm mechanically inclined and a pretty good handyman. Thanks to having an awesome mother, I floss at least twice a day. :)
Life is good right now. But like you perhaps, I'm ready to find that perfect partner to share the rest of my life with. I'm financially secure and live in a comfortable home near Beaver Lake with my two cats. Besides teaching high school chemistry for a living, I sell much of my landscape photography to interior designers that specialize in providing art work for new hospitals and health care facilities. It's very gratifying to know that my pictures are helping people in their healing process.
I'm not looking for someone to take care of me, but a soulmate to spend time with, who likes me for for who I am. I love the outdoors - float trips, hiking, fishing, landscape photography...pretty much anything outside. I also like to curl up by the fire and listen to the soft pitter-patter of rain, and getting together with friends for a fish fry or Razorback game. If the thought of a two mile hike to a waterfall on a crisp autumn morning appeals to you, chances are good that we have a lot in common. Yep, it's all about the chemistry. I long for the magic and excitement that comes from connecting with a special woman. I may never find the perfect soulmate, but at this point in life, I won't settle for less.
I'm a pretty easy-going kinda guy and easy to talk to. I'm a good listener and won't tell you how to live your life. I don't ask much of people in general, and enjoy volunteer work and doing things for others. I also like to go out on the town for dinner and a night of live music and dancing. I know how to open doors for a woman, and how to pull out their chair at the dinner table.
My marriage came a little late in life, so I don't have any children. But hey, as a teacher, I get to know 150 new kiddos every year! That's a handful, no doubt. I love being a part of their lives, and being a role model and positive influence in their future. Before I began my teaching career, I worked in Oklahoma and Texas as a geologist, but am thrilled to be back living in the Ozarks - where I grew up. By the way, the old house I'm standing next to is not mine...it's an old homestead near Erbie on the Buffalo River. Very neat place. And oh yeah, that's not a cane in my hand, it's a walking stick I use to defend myself from grizzly bears and mountain lions... :)
