From 1995-2000 I wrote three oral history books about the people of the Ouachita (Wash-i-taw) Mountains of western Arkansas. I was on a committee to bring a community college to our area and then served on its board of trustees from 1983-2000. I was director of Southwest Arkansas Regional Archives in Washington, Arkansas. I wrote a book for the archives titled "25 Years at the Archives."
For my writing, directing the Archives, and my contribution to the community college cause in Arkansas, I was nominated to then accepted and included in the Silver Anniversary edition of Marquis' "Who's Who in American Women."
I have three sons ages 34, 35, and 42, all married, with six grandchildren ages eight months-7 years. My sons went to the UofA in Fayetteville.
I have been divorced four years. Everything I own is paid for and I have no debts. I was a flight attendant for Delta. Then I did not work outside my home from 1964 when I got married to 2002. I taught school six years before retiring in March 2011.
