Bantering ideas with other intelligent people is my idea of a good time. Lately my reading habits have been tending towards fiction, but I also enjoy readin philosophy, history and current events. I have read quite a few of the classics as well. On that note: I am a news junky. I like being well informed in international affairs. I love food: eating and cooking it. I live alone and cannot be bothered to cook much for myself, but I delight in entertaining guests and cooking a memorable meal for them. If we ever meet, I will insist on cooking for you, though I also enjoy going out to eat at restaurants. I can be a snob when it comes to alcohol. I like a good red wine, whiskey (preferably Irish), and brandy (hard to beat cognac). It is my opinion that shots are for people who want to get drunk but do not really like alcohol. A good drink is meant to be sipped and savoured. I used to DJ and was a dancing fool. My current locale does not have music which accomodates my tastes, but I would hope that I might meet someone who might enjoy making a weekend trip to Dallas for that expressed purpose. I have been itching to go to the Red Jacket's 80's Night for a while now... I love going out to the cinema. I enjoy all sorts of movies (as long as they have a plot). My favorite movies also tend to be directed by the late Stanley Kubrick, Quentin Tarantino or Tim Burton. I like satire and black humour (that is laughing at something that should not be funny and not ethnic humour). In a committed relationship I am stalwart loyal. I expect the same from a partner.

My girls are my life and I'm involved in their daily lives. My oldest lives with me full-time while my youngest spends part of the time with her Mother. I am very protective of them and could not raise them without the help from my family (Dad, Mom, Sister and my Brother's family of 5...I'm the youngest). They all live close and we visit as often as possible. Frequently, we will take vacations together with most being small weekend campouts while others are larger yearly vacations.
My church family is important as well and I'm happy to be involved with mine. We get together as often as possible eating together, going to movies, playing cards and sports (mainly softball and basketball) as well as taking a couple of camping trips per year.
I also love riding my motorcycle and ride almost daily. My girls go whenever possible and enjoy taking my longer drives on the weekends and shorter dinner rides with co-workers or my church family during the week. I also enjoy Bikes, Blues and BBQ listening to the music but mainly go to look at the Bikes and for the FOOD.
