You'd think with all the profiles I've written since logging onto my first dating site - back in 05 - I would be better at creating an online image of myself, than I obviously have, and I say that is because of all the requests I have received for “the facts man, just the facts”, making it clear that like Lucy, I’ve got some “splainin” to do. So I will try – once again – to do a better job of explaining the who, what, when, where, and why, of yours truly, because frankly Scarlet, I do give a damn about having to repeat myself, message-by-message, so buckle up Sweetheart, because this is going to be a bumpy - but relatively painless - ride, and here we go; I am an extremely focused “Type A/B” person, who can multi-task with the best of them (although I prefer paying attention to detail, and can be as focused as a laser beam, when the object of my attention, gets inside my head).
I can hold my own in social gatherings, from a simple backyard BBQ, too a “highbrowed” (pinky in the air) black-tie affair, but as much as I enjoy verbally jousting with elitists, I prefer the former, over the latter, and the fact that I am a “former” Democrat - Republican too - now an Independent, shows that my mind – although harboring strong opinions on most issues - can be changed, but only when the prevailing perspective, makes more sense to me, than mine. But be forewarned, if you attempt to convert me, you had better come loaded for bear (and have all your factual ducks in a row), because I don’t change what I believe easily - or just because someone tells me to - I place far more value on my opinion(s), than that.
I was born and raised Roman Catholic, and attended Catholic schools for all but 4 years of my primary education, however, over the years I have stumbled – according to my sainted mother – and am in the process of sorting all that out, so if you can provide some perspective in that area, kudos to you, and although I may not sit with the Lord on Sunday, I do stroll with him during the week. I am faithfully patriotic, and believe that America is the greatest nation ever to inhabit the planet, which forms the basis for me being more concerned than most, with the direction our country is headed, and firmly believe that government should believe in the people it serves more, and in itself less, and I plan to do my part, to see to it that it does (so that future generations can experience their own successes and failures, on their own terms).
I guess this would be a good place to mention, that if the thought of you engaging in a spirited debate regarding government, religion, or most any other topic under the sun too, makes you nauseous, then it’s probably best you keep fondling your mouse, because trust me - if that’s the way you feel – lingering here, could be mentally painful (for the both of us). That said - if you’re tempted to linger a little while longer - you “MUST” be the kind of person who has hopes, and dreams (ambitions too), and the desire to see them through to fruition, and although there’s no need for yours, to be in line with mine, you must be willing to let me be involved in/with yours, as I will you, with mine (so we can share in each other’s successes, failures, and revelations), and if you enjoy hiking, cycling, traveling, walks in the moonlight, and sitting under the stars - while engaged in stimulating conversations, that could last deep into the night - we might be onto something.
And if you prefer your conversations over a properly chilled glass of chardonnay, Merlot, or a cup of Baileys and coffee (with a hand-wrapped “Churchill” chaser), all the better. And although there is much more for me to tell, time has come for work to get in the way, so I will wrap this up - for now - but I will return later to edit some more (until I feel I have knocked one into the “cheap seats”), so please feel free to come back later, to check my progress…
