Most of my freinds would say that I am adventurous a good listner and hopelesly optimisic. I try very hard not to judge and and thankfull for all that I have been blessed with. I act more like a 30 year old, lately i feel like I'm getting younger every year. I am very energetic, love the outdoos and to travel and experience new adventures. I can be very spontaneous......love to jump an a plane on the spur of the moment!!
I really don't have a "list" of what I would like my match to be like.....Ide rather be surprized!! As long as there is chemistry everything else will fall into place. I get that going between two states while in continuing parenting mode can seem like a red flag or a flat out "not doing that" for most of you, and I respect that. I look at it this way. I've had relationships that started out fast, but then fizzled out over time. Partly from lack of maturity, partly from not "getting it". I've had real challenges in my life, as I'm sure you have also. I feel that I've learned more than most, and I'm grateful. I'd like to do this one right, and I "get it" with respect to what's truly important in life. YOU are important, as well as your kids, friends, and family. My kids, my family, and my friends are important. Health, and attitudes are important. A spiritual connection is important. Making a connection with you is important, but moving in together in a few months is NOT important. I want to truly know you as well as possible before taking that next step with you, and I think the physical proximity of us is actually a good thing at this time, not a bad thing. That being said, next trip down is in the planning phase, but thinking mid-August for 10-14 days.
I currently live in Kalispell, MT, but visit Scottsdale about every 4-6 weeks. I live a conservative lifestyle, and am trying to raise my kids that way as well. That doesn't mean I'm cheap or don't enjoy the finer things in life. Just like to be smart with money. I don't care how big or small your house is, how important your job is, what kind of vehicle you drive, or how much money you make or have. I do care about who you are, the life experiences you have had, and what makes you tick today. Not to be outdone by how much common interest we share and if we have any chemistry, of course! I am a good listener, a gentleman, have manners, and believe chivalry is not dead. I don't like dating, and am anxious, but not desperate, to meet you. That doesn't mean I don't like romance, as I dig it! I think I'm a keeper.
I am looking for a best friend that will go the distance and turn into the best, and last, love of my life. I want to wear out the deck in our rocking chairs drinking coffee, tea, wine, beer, metamucil, etc. cruising on the Harley or in some ridiculously fast convertible, or golf cart, and skinny dipping in the pool when we're in our nineties! I know, we're not getting younger, but I'm not making another mistake. That does NOT equate to "commitment issues"; I've just gained clarity on what type of woman I like, and what things are deal breakers for me. I plan to split time in both states over the next few years with my time in AZ increasing as my kids become more independent. Until they're out of high school, I'll have to share time in both states. I'd like you to be able to spend some time here as well, but know your schedule may not allow that. After they're out of school, I'd like us to travel north in the summers, and south in the winters, or wherever the wind blows us. Italy, Spain, and Greece if its still there would be nice, as well as New Zealand and Australia. BTW, as much as I enjoy riding my Harley and sharing pic's referring to that aspect of my life, it isn't my life, and you don't have to indulge in it if you don't want to. I don't like shoe shopping, so I figure we're even. Just saying : )
I prefer to visit on the phone or in person to figure out if we should get together, so I won't bore you anymore here. I understand, and agree that physical attraction and chemistry are a vital requirement in any relationship, however, it's whats on the inside that truly counts. If you meet me, I think you'll like who I am. I'm salt of the earth people that know that what is truly important can't be bought. I'm looking forward to meeting you, even if we decide the chemistry isn't there.

So, do I go the direction of writing something funny and light-hearted which are the profiles that I am most attacted to, or try to open up so you get an idea of what this guy who was married for over 20 years and has two kids is all about? You just can't force funny, so I think I'll be honest instead. I'll save the funny for when we meet.
I'm first looking for a friend and to see where that friendship leads. Ultimately, I'm looking for my "last great love" to spend the second half of my life with. You'll find I'm a good man who is honest, caring, intelligent, funny, secure and stable. I'm from the mid-west, growing up in the Chicago area. My faith and mid-western values are central to who I am.
My kids are the most important part of my life. My children (21 and 16) live with me and they are great kids - still the best thing I have ever done. I have an established career as an attorney. I like volunteering and serving my community.
What are some of my interests? I love live music, theatre, sports, learning and exploring new things. I love to cook. I also love to travel to places like NYC, Chicago, San Francisco/Napa, San Diego/Coronado and Telluride. I run, bike and play hockey to try to stay in shape. Not "college" shape, but shape for a man of a "certain age". I enjoy local sports and I still follow my Chicago teams - "Da' Bears" and "Da' Cubs". But I'm not a sports junkie. I consider myself well educated and pretty well traveled, and I am just as happy going to a gallery or museum as to a football or hockey game.
What am I looking for? Pretty simple really. Someone who is open first to a friendship. Sense of humor is probably the most attractive quality for me, followed closely by intelligence. Make me laugh with something really clever and you definately have my attention. But what is most important to me is to be with a good person; somone who is trustworthy, honest, cares about others and with whom I share common values. I am old fashion; be thoughtful, make plans, open doors, and treat a woman like a lady. And, like most people, chemistry has to be there; physically, emotionally and spiritually.
