Yes, I will admit, I do work a lot but I am trying to shift back a few gears and enjoy life. I worked hard to get this far and am just starting to enjoy the fruits of my labors. Well, let me introduce myself... Hi There, my name is Scott. I feel like I'm a pretty laid back person who likes to do many things. I enjoy all the usual outdoor activities as well as getting out and listening to live music, a performance at the PAC, wine tasting, hanging out with family and friends. Sometimes though, you can't beat a lazy day around the house reading a good book or catching up on a movie. I like to travel when I can and explore new things when the opportunities arise. I am a voracious reader as well as a movie buff. I hate to say, sometimes I amaze myself with all the useless knowledge and trivia that I have picked up over the years. There are moments where I love a good discussion that turns into a healthy debate whether it be politics or where to get the best coffee or wine at. I'm constantly pursuing some sort of educational betterment for myself from professional development classes to things that just catch my interest (Scuba and Photography classes?). Professionally, I have found my niche in life and plan to pursue it to higher levels in the career path that I have chosen. Other things... I am pretty opened minded about a lot of things (I tried yoga several times and found that I have no balance but go anyway for the entertainment factor for the rest of the class), always seeking out new things to try whether it be food or experiences, love a wide range of music (my Ipod has everything from The Clash to Waylon Jennings on it), like I said I'm a movie buff so quoted lines are not lost on me nor am I afraid of subtitles, I try to work out when it fits my schedule and I'm a sucker for a baseball hat on a woman...
I have two children that fit like a weird jigsaw puzzle at times in my life. An 18 year old girl skating through her senior year and a 6 year old first grader that is my boy wonder daredevil (no jump too high for this kid). They bring the usual teenage drama along for the ride as well as provide insight and enlightenment to my days home. I work on the North Slope of Alaska on some odd schedules (haven't had a regular schedule for almost two years) but when I am home, I am Mr Mom for my kids (hmmm... Maybe that's why I'm not doing the dating game very well...) who are fortunate enough to get the big breakfasts everyday, home cooked meals (did I mention that I love to cook?), and one on one attention that so few kids get these days. Anyway, my home life can be chaotic but it's mostly an organized chaos with me at the helm keeping the heathens in line. Yes, I am a bit of a pushover for my daughter (she is the apple of my eye though!) but then again, who doesn't know a Daddy's Girl out there?
I'm looking for your basic girl next door type that likes to get out and about and do the outdoors things as well as dress up for that gala event (I do own a tux and am always looking for an opportunity to wear it). I would like to find someone to do activities with and see what happens from there.
