If I had one option for selecting what I believe is the most important aspect in a relationship, I say Trust. If that foundation mutually grounds both sides, then the other feelings fall in line built on the foundation of Trust.
If I sense a friend or stranger is down, then those dark thunderclouds following them will disperse, damn it. :-) No matter what outcome, nor frustration or pain induced, with nearly every story of another's suffering contains high comedic value waiting to be mined and retold in spirit-lifting fashion, especially if at my own expense. If I can't laugh at myself, how the hell can I find humor from another? Let's face it, the dark little truth the Self-Righteous suppress and pretend is make-believe, is that let's face it... deep down inside everyone we all find it funny when someone else eats shit. :-)
The word Shallow used in any form or meaning in relation to me describes only one thing, the end that I choose to enter a swimming pool, unless a diving board option exists. In that case a cannonball is called for, and the moment before splashdown I pray the depth exceeds 5'. Once, I broke my ass on the main drain. Dragging my paraplegic self onto the deck there was a miracle. I experienced near-instantaneous healing when my friend oblivious of my cannonball through the earth's core, followed up with an Olympic dive... he mowed 3 feet of plaster with his face. Ever the tough guy, he later attributed the origin of his havoc-wreaked features not to him narrowly escaping a snarling, marauding, man-eating Great White Shark, but to his ex-wife he claims shares identical attributes... ;-)
Dinner and a Movie have not gone out of style.
Nor have aimless joy-rides to places we don't often frequent or locales we've yet to behold. Joyrides are stellar motivation to vacate the house any given gorgeous day when a hike may seem excessive following last night's social activities. One-on-one time cruising together surrounded by billion dollar views sharing in laughter unavoidable when two people have that magnetic pull, a chemistry of like-minded souls defying the gods to send us on another spontaneous adventure.
Far from extinction is opening doors whenever feasible. Approaching an entry together while I'm piggy-backing a full sized refrigerator is the lone exception. Mandatory girls first includes though is not limited to ordering anywhere, receiving a drink, leaving or arriving, and sitting down.

How can guys know this "Dream Match" is appearance alone when later she reveals her membership to The Third Reich?
