A little bit about me? I'm a responsible single parent of two boys (at least I like to think so), a teenager and one preteen. Both are convinced that they've already grown up and have ALL the answers. They're pretty good boys overall if you ask me, but I might be a little biased. I consider myself to be just a regular guy who's pretty easy to get along with; clean cut, clean living, and somewhat outgoing. I don't smoke or mess with drugs whatsoever. I do like a good beer now and again though, but usually in a social setting most of the time. I rarely drink at home. Not crazy about drama so I tend to avoid it. I like to have a good time and a good laugh, but not at the expense of someone else. I believe in being polite to people and treating others with the same level of respect I'd like to be shown. I make it a priority and insist my boys do the same. And if they don't...I beat them! Of course, I'm just kidding (weak attempt to inject a little humor). I try not to take myself or life too seriously, but we all know that can sometimes be easier said then done. I work hard when I need to, and play hard when I can. Life can definitely be challenging at times so I'm all for trying to have as much fun with it as possible.
Who I'm looking for? I'm looking for a down to earth honest lady with integrity; a woman who has a good head on her shoulders, a good heart and good values. My ideal companion would be someone who likes to be active most of the time - but also enjoys just kicking back and relaxing now and then too; someone who is kind, has an outgoing personality, and a good sense of humor. An infectious laugh would be alright too. I've always been drawn to woman who are relatively conservative by nature. I think it's classy and very attractive. That's not to say I'm looking for a Princess in ballroom gown though. In my opinion, some woman are capable of being every bit as sexy (and classy) in an old pair of sweats, and/or jeans and a t-shirt as they are in a dress and heels. Date someone special from Alaska, United States. I have a good (and may I say "cough, cough" dry?) sense of humor and will be the first to sign up for something that I haven't done before. As an example, I'm educated as a chemist, transferred into the health and safety field (basically an internal OSHA inspector) and then my employer thought that I might make a good sales person. After growing up in Minnesota they transferred me to Houston, TX and I became a "damn Yankee". During this time I became a medic on the side for added excitement and then went back to health and safety after a few more years. My company moved me to California (Malibu - love the beach) and then back to Houston and I finally find myself in Alaska. I'm totally in love with the place!! I love spending time with friends and am an avid skydiver. Skydivers come from all walks of life and anywhere that I travel, all I have to do is find a drop zone and I know that I'll be making new friends. I'm very content with my life, but it would be nice to find someone to share it with me. I enjoy dressing up for the symphony (I used to play classical violin at the University of Minnesota and electric fiddle in a band) or doing shorts and a t-shirt for a cookout in the back yard. Oh yea, I was a cook in college so I also love good food and cooking at home which means that keeping in shape is sort of minor hobby of mine. I'm not fanatical about it, but I like to swim, run, bike ride. I'm going to be doing the RAGBRAI again this year riding across the state of Iowa. I would like to meet a lady that finds the things I enjoy interesting and fun, but that also has some unique interests of her own to share with me. Life is a journey and I believe that it is more fun when traveled with someone that adds her own particular form of "spice". It would be nice to meet someone that enjoys music (everything from Mendelssohn to Nine Inch Nails), could possibly get away for an afternoon bike ride and just enjoys spending time outside. I'm also a movie fan so sitting in front of the silver screen from time to time would be cool. When my grandparents passed away they'd been married for over 60 years, so there must be something to it. I now work on the North Slope for a 2-week on, 2-week off schedule so I have plenty of time off to travel.
