In short, I’m faster than a speeding pullet, more powerful than a loco's motive, and able to leap tall tales in a single volume!
My passions include boating (I prefer sailing, but I’ll happily skipper, first mate, navigate or deck-hand anything that floats, even an inner tube), camping, golf, cooking, travel (favorite destination: L'Hermitage in St. Petersburg, Russia; looking forward to: the Greek Isles, Italy and France), animated conversations (no subject is off-limits), music (favorites are classical, opera, jazz, 60's rock, and just about anything else with a melody line), summer (I love the heat!), outrageous experiences, and family time. Oh, did I mention golf? My glass is MORE than half full! Age is a state of mind, and mine is about 27! Old enough to be responsible and young enough to be adventurous!

Rescue puppies and kittens, vol 22 years with State Humane. It hurts, but must be done. We are judged by the manner we treat lesser creatures on the planet, and as hominids, we are not far from Olduvai Gorge. God is present , but he does not sit up at night to admire his handiwork.
And, yes. I live with two wolves, they are getting used to me. Wonderful, spiritual creatures, hopefully you exceed them.

JUST turned 64 (June '12), so figured a REVISED "About Me" was appropriate!
The glass is half full. Life has been and is good! Yet - I think it could be even better with a friend, companion, and/or partner with whom to share it. And, FYI, Woodland is near Davis - so not all that far from Sacramento AND close to the airport - for any anticipated travels or quick get-aways by air!
In no particular order, I'd (humbly and modestly) say that I'm independent, confident, serious-but-fun, out-going/sociable/friendly (easy to get to know) as well as quiet/content-to-stay-home, considerate, warm-hearted, affectionate, kind/caring/compassionate, a dress-up and/or dress-down person (you can take me anywhere!), communicative/open/expressive of my feelings, have integrity plus a good sense of humor, adventurous, curious/inquisitive, interesting, interested/a good listener, well-educated and mannered (with a hint of irreverence), intelligent, dependable, responsible, reliable, 'into' both spontaneous and/or planned activities, adventurous, fairly financially secure, and MORE! No baggage. No drama. No games. Did I miss anything important to you? Maybe I forgot to include it!

Currently, I teach 4th grade; but I've not been a life-long teacher. Other occupations include corporate San Francisco, hotel management, tourism, and owning a business for 10 years.
I have always loved exploring new cultures, places, and ideas - be they far away or around the bend. In my younger years, along with 4 others, I drove the Pan American Highway from S.F. through Central America, crossing into Columbia via banana boat with our 2 vehicles, then down the West coast of South America, into Argentina from Bolivia (Chile was in "coup" mode) and up to Rio de Janeiro - where the trip of a lifetime ended. But just exploring a new town or area within California can be delightful.
In addition to traveling/exploring, a few years ago I "discovered" ballroom and Latin dancing - which is a lot of fun. If you like to dance at all, try it! A bit more challenging is my attempt to learn Argentine tango....
NPR wakes me up in the morning. I've found pleasure in attending plays and movies, eating exciting/interesting cuisine, and listening to audio books en route to work. I watch little TV (no time).
Health-wise, I've had heart issues - but nothing in the past several years (thanks to good docs and meds). "Live life to the fullest" is my motto, so I live as if there are many tomorrows. Exercise includes a morning cardio class and swim aerobics during vacations, walking and treadmill the rest of the year; I'm also getting back into yoga. Food-wise, I am a fish/shellfish-eating vegetarian - but do not expect you or anyone else to be. Favorite foods include Thai, Japanese, Chinese, Mexican, Indian, most Asian, Mediterranean, etc..
