Where shall I begin? How about I get right to the point!
I'm on Match for quality, not for quantity! I'm not here trying to fill an open date on my calendar. I'm not looking for someone who wants to play head games so if you're not looking for a player then maybe we should talk. I'm not huge into the bar scene and apparently too chicken to approach you at the grocery store. So here I am!
I don't want to sit and type a book trying to describe myself. I would rather let you form your own opinion. I will tell you that my taste are more blue jeans and beer than 3 piece suits and champagne. Friends would describe me as a family man who is easygoing and generally happy with a good sense of humor (a bit sarcastic at times). I have 2 children who do live with me most of the time and they are very important to me and I’m looking for someone who not only can accept that, but embrace it as well. I am definitely missing that special person to share all of lifes ups and downs with.
I like to stay active. Weather permitting, you will typically find me outside doing something. I enjoy working around the house and take a lot pride in how my place looks. I also enjoy camping, fishing, hiking and a multitude of sports. Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy my down time too plus some of the simpler things life has to offer. Things like having a drink and a laugh around the fire pit with good friends, an evening walk / bike ride or just sitting on the porch on a warm summer evening or during a thunderstorm just to name a few.
I wont waste your time with a long list of what I’m looking for. After all, I don't really have a specific type in mind and I don't want you trying to be what you think I want, I just want you to be yourself! That's the person I do want to get to know.
So if you don't mind, I'll be just a little cliche' with what I'm looking for. Physical attraction, honesty, a good communicator, a good sense of humor and an understanding that there is you time, me time and us time would be a great start. I am strong headed about finances and having a plan in life but I understand you have to be ready for change. I keep a clean house and enjoy being at home as well as out and about. Work is important to me but not my top priority - I work hard but I also expect to play. I like change in my job and have changed career paths a couple of times within the government. My career has taken me many places but I am comfortable right at home.

I do classify myself as a hopeful romantic, a southern gentleman (yes I do have a slight accent, (so I have been told, LOL)). I open doors, when walking with you, I will be on the outside, the side next to street, help a woman with her coat, stand up when a woman enters the room, slay a few dragons, and rescue damsel's in distress, you know the kinds of things that knights in shining armor do!. (Please note, that I said shining armor, and not the shining (the movie), a big difference!).
I came to a realization, due to my age, I just have been around for some number of years. You see, I was born at a very early age.
I believe that the auto industry and the invention of bucket seats have slowly eroded romance. Whatever happened to having your sweetie sit right beside you, while you drove? Center consoles in cars should be outlawed! What we need is more drive in movies!
Or quiet, romantic places for talking and getting to know someone.

Ok the rest of my profile is me, pure and simple. That is me, simple, I like simple things.
Yes, I can be serious. I am not always joking around. I just enjoy putting a smile on someone's face, or making them laugh. It has been once said "that you can see the soul of an individual by looking into their eyes". Possibly so, but I too look at their smile. To see if there is magic in the smile. So hopefully something in my profile has made you smile, and make you ponder me a little bit longer.
My life is like going out for dinner, I can go by myself or with someone. Whichever way I go, I still will still eat, but the experience will be different. Same with having someone to share my life with, I would be complete enough to do it alone, but choose not to. Going to dinner with someone, adds variety, adds enjoyment, just as sharing your life with someone. If you eat by yourself, then you don’t get the opportunity to try another’s dish, and probably you won’t order an appetizer, but if you go to eat with someone, then you both will try the appetizer, and you both will sample the other’s dish and probably share a desert. Same with having someone to share life with, you have more experiences, and the chance to grow with another individual and to share.

I do not preach it, nor do I try to tackle people into believing the way I do. Television is out, and being with people is what I do. I spend almost every night of the week out, either at my local church or with small groups. I am a very happy single man, however; an intimate relationship has been lacking in what is otherwise a full life. I find it interesting when people state, “spiritual but not religious.” What they really mean is, “I believe there is a God, but I don’t like Legalistic, Dogmatic, church going Christians telling me how wrong my life is.” Well, I have good news, neither do I.
