Date men and women from Alabama, United States. I have been divorced since 2004. My children live with me most of the time and I am active in their lives. While the "Mr. Mom" activities have taught me to braid hair, paint nails, and even one instance of coloring hair (I don't see how you ladies can stand the smell), I wouldn't trade my children for any others in the world.
I work a lot at home but often have to do short trips mainly in the tri-state area. The rest of the time I spend with my family, youth baseball, and decompressing with mindless activities from my work schedule which sometimes has me on-call 24/7.
Having been on my own for most of my life, I can sometimes be impossible to argue with. I don't have a problem making a mistake, getting something wrong, or having a misunderstaning but do like to have logical reasons for correcting a mistake other than "because I said so". My point is that a person who argues for the sake of arguing has no place in my life. Understanding another person and having reasons for reaching a compromise is very important. I am not lying when I say that it takes a strong woman with a good sense of humor and doesn't need constant affirmation in order to hold my afections. Co-dependent and weak-hearted need not apply. I do not want someone around who regurgitates the mainstream media. I am teaching my children to gather information from multiple sources and form their own logical opinions. I would prefer a woman who is capable of the same.
I have goals and dreams which are starting to come true. While I would love someone to share these moments with, I always have and still can make it on my own. My children are first and a strong woman who loves children would understand that.
Other things of note is that I can cook (not just run a grill but actually cook). My daughter is already better at baking than I ever was but I still have her beat in other areas of the kitchen. I do not typically do recreational reading unless it is an outstanding sci-fi or fantasy series. I try not to have too deep of conversations about politicians or religion though I will discuss political issues.
