Date a man from Pisgah, United States. Where do you go hiking? Take me with you. My stave weighs under a lb., with spares to share. My favorite activities are backpacking, canoeing, and volunteering, but occasionally I go whitewater rafting, caving, mountain biking, rock climbing, or scuba diving, and I could be persuaded to sky dive. Visiting Australia or through hiking the AT is my idea of an adventure rather than an expedition to Mount Everest because I have better sense and am as cheap as a drive-in theater matinee (:-). I dislike most team sports because rather than building character they just reveal how it is gravitates to the lowest level from professional thugs and drunken fans to the coaches/parents instilling unsportsmanship from the beginning thus earning my disrespect so that the only sports of interest me take guts rather than balls (:-). Other interest often pursued while enjoying my favorite activities include nature photography and scientific observations including dendrology, malacology, geology, astronomy, meteorology, etc.
Most of the volunteering I do is related to my interest. First off I’m utilized by scout troops as an outing guide where I can instruct any merit badge pertaining to nature or outdoor activities, as well as similar f BSA leader training. My interests in landscaping are utilized as a Master Gardener. These volunteer activities are leading to a part time job and career respectively. This is great since doing what you love means never having to work. Other volunteer activities involve helping various conservation organizations and related government agencies with habitat restoration, species surveys, invasive exotic removal, and develop/maintain trails.
I’m developing an orchard of mostly native fruits and nuts, but nothing is of bearing size yet. The most extensive planting is mayhaws, which make the best jelly. Other things in my orchard include pomegranates, figs, black aronia berries, wild gooseberries, American plums, Indian peaches, American filberts, chinquapins, mulberries and paw paws, while I plan to have maypops, kiwi, raspberries, cranberries, and honey plants including sourwood, basswood, and tupelo, specifically Ogeechee lime, which produces edible fruit. Large nut trees including pecan, hickory, butternut, black walnut and English walnut will be added as space allows. Persimmons grow wild and it is fun daring somebody to eat green ones. I’ll even grow yaupon holly for tea and catalpa trees to get catalpa worms for fish bait, along with any native ornamentals I propagate. There will also be familiar things like apples, grapes, blueberries, and strawberries.
When describing myself as unique I begin with being left handed, but discussing my breakfast menu it where it gets weird when as mentioned in my favorite things. The explanation for chocolate syrup on scrambled eggs began when my mom arranged food as a smiley face, but a self portrait was made by turning the “blonde hair” to brown using chocolate. Another favorite is blackberry biscuits and a seasonal item more commonly fixed the way I like is cantaloupe with biscuits and gravy. Hopefully you’ll at least like spicy food, because I make really good gumbo.
Character is important and touches on aspects of both religious and political views. After that the main thing I look for is compatibility with my interest considering how much time is filled while helping others. Don’t expect me to change much or for your happiness to depend on me despite such desires appearing to be part of the curse and expulsion from the Garden of Eden, besides I doubt you’d show up naked and bring food like Eve (:-). As for physical appearance and intelligence keeping up with me will suffice while the rest depends on shared preferences in desired traits of progeny. I figure an ideal match to all criteria is 1 in a billion, but I’m still hoping rather than lowering my standards since being alone is better than the misery of settling for less than our best match.
