I think that I am a pretty laid back person (my kids would probably question that) and I try to take things for what they are. I pride myself on looking at both sides of the story and trying to see and understand what other people are going through. This is both a blessing and a curse. I have two teenagers that have basically found that they would rather hang out with friends than spend all of their time with mom now. This is somewhat ok, once I figure out what to do with all of this free time that I suddenly now have. What am I looking for? First and foremost, Honesty. I know that there has to be someone else in this world that wants an honest and open relationship. Communication is huge. I want someone that will talk to me about anything, everything and nothing (this will make sinse to you if you want the same thing). I am settled in my career and I don't need someone to take care of me, i want someone that wants to enjoy life with me. I have been told that I am sheltered and not very adventurous, that is probably true, but not how I want to be. It's time to start exploring new things and meeting new people.

I am a High School History teacher on the weekdays, and it does take up a decent chunk of my time, so that's why I'm trying this. I would like to have a good excuse not to work as much as I do !
For fun I play trombone and sing in a Swing Big Band. I know how to Swing Dance, but one needs a partner to practice with, is that you? Usually I'm playing the music, its hard to dance and play at the same time, so it has a been a while. I play tennis, go mountain biking and sometimes go Cross-Country Skiing. At home, I like to cook, collect books and old movies.
As for kids, I like them, but starting any relationship is difficult enough without throwing them in the mix, so I prefer someone who might like to have them in the future, but doesn't have them yet.

Although I enjoy being active, I appreciated my down time. I am simple in that I value time spent with family and friends.
