I'd like to find a sweet, honest, hard-working man with a good sense of humor to spend the rest of my life with. I would prefer to spend time with a man who enjoys at least some of the things I like, such as sports, home projects, movies, camping, playing board games/dominoes, etc. I am basically a homebody, but I will take a vacation at least once or twice a year and go away for weekend excursions here and there. I'm content most of the time to stay home and do things around the house, like work in the yard, home improvement projects, etc. If you like to be on the go most of the time, I'm probably not for you. I'm not a couch potato, but I do enjoy my home, and it would be nice to have someone to come home to.
I am very outgoing around other people, but I do enjoy spending time alone or with the one I love. Most important to me in a relationship are honesty and humor and a good work ethic. I live a pretty simple life, and it doesn't take a lot to make me happy. If I have enough income to pay all my bills, go out to eat once or twice a week, go shopping occasionally, and take a vacation or two every year, I feel I'm doing fine and am probably better off than a lot of others around me. I would consider myself low maintenance. All the "stuff" we buy and accumulate in our lives here on this earth is just that....stuff. We're only borrowing it for a short time, and then it's there for someone else to have to deal with when we're gone from this life. So if accumulating lots of land and money and material possessions is important to you, don't be upset if I'm not impressed or don't want to get on board. Don't get me wrong, it's nice to be able to afford certain luxuries for which we've worked hard to obtain, but I don't require much. God has blessed me with good health, a decent job, good friends and family, and so much more than I deserve.
I would prefer that my mate like dogs, or at least tolerate them. I have two miniature dachshunds who are indoors most of the time, but they let themselves in and out of their doggy door, so I don't necessarily have to hurry home from work and let them out. Meet a soulmate from United States. I'm not sure how my friends would describe me. Most of them would probably say I'm a little nutty, but funny nutty. I tend to be shy when around someone new. But once I get to know you, not so much (lol). I am grateful for my children no matter how much they drive me crazy. I am passionate about my grandchildren and want to pass down love of family. Two of my grandchildren do live with me full time, a 4 and 5 -yar-old (girls).. My greatest wish is that they all love one another and never forget their bond to each other. And that they always believe there is nothing they cannot accomplish. Of note, I have 3 grown daughters and 5 granddaughters, so you must really like to be around girls!! I don't want to be someone's part time, down time, or option. I want to be the one thing some special guy can't live without. Even at 47 I still think the fairytale is out there. And, one other thing you guys should know... I am a not a petite woman. I don't know if you can tell that by my photo. I am told you really can't, so I want to put that out there. But I am so much more than you see so never judge a book by its cover. I love the beach. Obviously I do like to socialize on the internet a little as well. I like to read true crime novels (my favorite author is Ann Rule). I like to go out to the movies and love to swim. And as I said I am definitely looking for Mr. Right, not Mr. Right Now. Actually, I think I'm living in the Grand Illusion in thinking I will find someone - since my screen name implies, I am a 'dog mom' to 12 dogs -- I'm kinda like that middle aged woman, living in the 'dream trailer' with so many 'kids' she didn't know what to do (hope you get the nursery rhyme I'm referring to!)!! I've always loved animals but if anyone told me 20 years ago I'd have 12 pups I would have laughed my you know what off! But since moving here and seeing how there are so many irresponsible people by not having their pets spay or neutered, I felt I didn't have much of a choice since all the shelters are beyond full, but to keep (most of) them and trust me I did find homes for a lot of them (I lived in Taiwan for 2 years and brought 9 dogs back with me, still have 3 of them). I have a big heart, too big sometimes, but I've made a committment to them for the rest of their lives. (I'm a committment type person, to people and pets). Since I wasn't able to have the 2 legged version of kids, these are my kids and they have been here for me thru many troubled times, as they are here for me now (which a few are snoring right now!). Since I've been alone for a while, I've been getting involved in the local rescue shelters and helping to find homes for other dogs (mostly thru FB). It breaks my heart that there are so many unwanted pets and that people treat them like trash, it's so not right.
I love to travel and see things and go places, but it's kind of hard to do so - not impossible, just takes some planning. Wish I could be more spontaneous, but I can't right now. I love to entertain and party plan and have a good time. I think I'm funny, love to make people laugh - I want to meet someone that I have someting in common with and be able to talk to. I would love to skip the whole dating process and just find the one to live happliy ever after with! Sounds like a fairy tale, but instead of the glass slipper, I'm wearing the tall barn yard boot!! - I work out with weights and I eat clean and healthy and am really trying to get back in great shape (but really like my merlot, too!) - just got back from attending the Transformation Camp in Golden, CO with Bill Phillips at the end of May - also enjoy walks - love listening to the waves at the beach - but also love hiking the mountains - I love the 80's hard rock or big hair bands, yep, stuck in the past on that one! Love doing stuff outside but the bugs and humidity really get to me lately - esp the bugs!!! Aargh!
I don't need to go out to dinner all the time, prefer to cook at home and just hang out - really down to earth, just want to love, be loved and have fun and be at peace - It's hard to put everything in words, best to get to know one another -
So, who am I looking for? Besides a Prince or a Veternarian (HA!) - I just want an easy going, fun loving, animal loving person who likes to do something or just hang out at home and easy to talk to. I guess I'm old fashioned but I haven't worked outside of the home in 6 years so they (the 'kids') are used to having me here all the time and since most of them are afraid of t'storms, I'm glad I can be here for them. Had several good jobs in the clerical, admin and shipping positions but I prefer to stay at home and take care of my family, guess it's just the way I was brought up -
