I am thankful for good health, my family and friends, I look outside sometimes and wonder how on earth we could have so may colors of blue and green then I remember who made all the thing I am looking at and there is no limit to what is in this world that I have not seen and I would really like to see more of it than I have in my years on this earth.

I long to connect emotionally, intellectually, physically, and spiritually with the right man. I see life as a book of many chapters, the sum of which lead to a climactic ending. I am still "writing" my book, having recently begun another new chapter. I do not see relationships as ends in themselves, but opportunities for growth in self awareness and character,and in a deeper understanding of human nature.
My ideal match is one who is outgoing, fun-loving, and trusting. He is assertive , but not controlling and agressive. He has his own interests in addition to some that we share.He is physically active, loves the outdoors,and nature, but can also enjoy quiet moments and stimulating conversation. He takes pride in his physical appearance, keeps himself physically fit , but not obsessive about it. It would be extra "points" if he is musically inclined (sings or plays an instrument), and likes to dance. He will be at least 5'9'' tall (as I am 5'9" in shoes),and he will NOT SMOKE -never! His political leanings will be either independent or somewhat liberal - no conservative divide! I've tried it -it doesn't work.
My interests are versatile. , I am physically active, love the outdoors, and nature; enjoy hiking;bicycling;horseback riding;snow skiing;swimming; gardening; and dancing. I enjoy exploring back roads, travel. ( I am adventurous by nature.) I have many cultural interests - taste in music ranges from classical to blue grass, art shows,and museums. I do not like spectator sports with the exception of horse racing, and the olympics,( but it's ok if he does, as long as he isn't obsessive about it). I also love dogs and horses, but have neither at this time.
I have two daughters. The older one lives and works in D.C., the other lives in Bellingham, Washington. We are close, but don't get together often due to work ,and distance. I have no grandchildren.
I would like to add that if you don't take the time to write enough about yourself in your profile, and have a photo posted, I will not know if I am interested in you, so I will not respond. Also, the photos are recent . The main photo has some discoloration as it is a proof, and I couldn't fix it.

Want someone to travel with, or just have fun with at home.....It's okey if you have a handicap as long as you can laugh at yourself and life....I've had enough trauma, so don't need any more and I'm not a good couselor, but I am a good partner and a devoted one who will "watch your back" as it's said, and help you stand up....if you tend to lean a bit. I can appreciate a good person who was taken by a younger woman...It's okey..Now you know not to do that again. Would appreciate a man who is not greedy nor frugal, but smart and witty with common sense. I like to cook and I like to eat out, also. I"d really rather have a good friend who likes to sleep alone....If you snore, I'd like for you to go have a sleep apnea test. I have my own CPAP machine. Ha....after all, I am somewhere in my early 70's going on 50, at least at last count. I like to go out on a random calendar date and celebrate with a good meal and glass of wine and call it a birthday celebration regardless of what month it is...that way, we won't know when we got a year older. I hope to attract a person who is highly intelligent, one from whom I can still learn. An eccentric, good, decent person. My mother lived to be almost 100 years old, so expect a long life from me. If you decide to stay alone, I'll buy you a dog..They are great partners and company if you don't already know, however, they can't pick you up if you fall...

I could only be comfortable with a Gentleman, who treated our servers with respect & dignity. someone who likes team board games,& table tennis. Are you smarter than a 5th grader is my favorite t.v. program, along with Waltons, the Create channel, & some of the food channel like "Chopped." I stay busy with photo Albums & scrapbooking.
Honesty is #1 in any friendship. Someone who would not mind riding a bicycle built for 2, who would take the lead. I can not walk great distances. I take some meds that prevents me being in the sun alot.. I'm more comfortable in cooler temps, where I can layer my clothes for warmth.
