I crack people up with my humor which can be both cerebral (ugh, dry wit) and fun (wet wit?). I love to make people laugh (can I make you laugh?). I exude confidence with regard to what I like and how I feel about things in life but am also unassuming and considerate with how other people feel. To that end, I'm level-headed and empathetic when listening to people. When I talk with people, I give thoughtful, honest answers. People do not feel that I am superficial. When I say something I mean it from the heart.
My family is a crucial and integral part of my life. I love them dearly. I have been very fortunate with how loving and understanding my family is.
A good time for me is when I engage friends in a good conversation that elicits a thoughtful (sometimes, well, most-of-the-time playful) discussion. Getting someone hooked on a quirky British comedy series is a silent (not-so-much now, huh?) hope of mine. I love to find a new show and watch it in bulk on DVD (Blu-ray, please) or streaming online.
I cook 90% (how do you like that on-the-spot statistic) of my meals and am pretty good. Please don't think I am making an assumption about gender roles, but I'm looking for someone who also can cook (a chef? yowza! (OK, I'm not going to say 'yowza' again)). Not so that I don't have to cook (I won't stop) but so that I can either learn from that person or learn with them. I want to find someone who is willing and eager to expand their skills. As Julia Child said, "the grand thing about cooking is you can eat your mistakes." (I bet you would think that a guy would have a Julia Child quote in his profile, now, did ya?). Now, I have to say. I love to cook nutritious, healthy food. Oh, that is another part of my lifestyle: Healthy eating. I'm not talking about eating diet food and frozen "healthy" meals. I'm talking about eating whole, fresh and wholesome foods. If I could find someone into cooking, we would be unstoppable and have more dinner parties than dinners in the week.
Enough about cooking and food, let's move on.
The outdoors. I recently moved to an area with a lot of parks that are less than a 1/2 mile away. I mean, how cool is that? I'm looking for someone who likes to go outside and do stuff (oh, that's descriptive). I mean 'stuff' as in bike-riding, running, strolling, being... active. I'm looking for a woman who likes to get her blood pumping and isn't afraid to sweat.
I bring loyalty, thoughtfulness, compromise, and appreciation to any relationship (friendship or otherwise) table because those are the things that matter to me. I honestly want to be best friends with you. I feel that to be important to create a camaraderie between us. Plus, I'm a sucker for those who share the same interests as I do (such as the use of parenthetical asides).
I imagine the woman who is my match is intellectually stimulating, creative, humorous, confident, and magnetic. I've always been more mature and independent than my peers and tend to be attracted to those from a wiser set. Of course, there are a myriad of different women out there that may or may not fit these somewhat thought out criteria. Or they might be reading this right now.
