I’ve tried various online dating sites for several years with varied results. Obviously, I haven’t found my “soul mate”, but I haven’t given up, either.
I can’t begin to tell you how many dozens of profiles of women that I have read which said, “I want a man who will make me laugh!” And why not? Life is too short, and we’ve suffered enough unhappiness to live the remainder of it in a state of continued unhappiness and suffering. To laugh would be unbelievably healing for our souls, for it is the ultimate expression of uncontrollable, (may I say…) orgasmic happiness.
I want to laugh, too. I want to dance like a dervish and feel light as a feather in the arms of one whose soul is knitted to my own with rope that a hurricane couldn’t break! It takes courage to take off my mask and trust someone with my pure, unadulterated life, including the bad decisions, embarrassing failures and the BS I’ve carried around in my soul for decades. That stuff has to come out! If I (and you) can be honest about that, THEN, we might just walk in the park, hold hands, feel a connection in our SOULS - and THEN, we’ll both LAUGH like we never dreamed possible.
So, I have a proposal…would you be willing to take the first step with me? A step of faith, of doubt, of courage, of honesty – so we can laugh again…and laugh like never before?
So, I’ll take the first step of honesty and admit that I’m scared to write this...because developing that kind of relationship will be hard! But I MUST…I don’t want to live on this earth a few years and waste the chance I had.
