Date men and women from United States / Alabama / Auburn, 66 year old

Date people from Alabama, United States. I am a physically active, fun loving, follically challenged, former jock. I am loyal, honest, passionate, sincere, and
affectionate. I am the same person every day. What you see is what you get. My life is complete except for one
thing - a good woman. I like having a woman in my life. I am looking for my last relationship - someone to be my friend,
my companion, and my lover until I "cash in the chips" at life's end.

Meet men and women from Alabama, United States. As of July 16, I will no longer be a member of Match. It has indeed been an interesting experience. I have been a little skeptical, to say the least, and not responded to winks and e-mails as i should have. I have met some very charming men and friends for life ( I hope) I wish the best for each of you and hope you find the love of your life ( if not) at least find a true friend. I know the world is filled with dishonest men and women, but it is also filled with beautiful people and friendships. Give love a chance...if you can open up your heart..Describing one's self is quite a tall order. It's hard to see yourself as others see you. I like to think of myself as energetic, happy, easy going, educated, thoughtful, kind, and with a great sense of humor. I am happy with myself and my life. I am not an angry person and never lose my temper. Laughter is the best ingredient and I do it easily and loudly.. I love to try new things and laugh at myself when I fail miserably. I have an adventurous silly side, although I can be very sophisticated when necessary.. Life isn't as much fun if you subdue your inner child all the time. I think I was born with a smile on my face and try to cast a positive light on all within beams reach. I am open minded, an observer and creative in thought. I can share feelings and opinions. I have passion, humor, an appetite for adventure and a willingness to take a risk.
I am determined, trustworthy, witty, (Gosh, I sound like "Roget's Thesaurus") sentimental, romantic, affectionate, and full of surprises. I live life with an open heart... to new experiences and people. I appreciate the little things. I adore my family and friends. I have a curious mind. I don't really have a laundry list of what I'm looking for, but I know I want someone who is REAL and comfortable in their own skin. Being honest and open is very important to me. I enjoyed and like to do varied things from seeing my first live bull fight in Spain to the car races in Talladega ( not something I'd like to do over and over), but I like to try different things. I've camped in tents and motor homes, water skied, canoed, white water rafted, ridden horses in the mountains, traveled in Europe by train, Paris in the fall, visited Niagra Falls, Macey's Parade at Thanksgiving, tasted wine at the Biltmore Estates as well as ridden my bike in the neighborhood, and enjoyed all of it. I would like to sample all of life, but there is not enough time. Whether you are home or abroad, life is what you make it and home is where your heart is.
Dining is a pleasure whether it be fine dining with fancy tablecloths, grilling on the deck, good 'ole home cooking, stopping at the corner vender in New York City for a hot dog at midnight then rushing down the street for some New York Cheesecake . I favor all colors and music. I can even tolerate rap. I've enjoyed every place I've visited. I delight in seeing live plays, concerts, rodeos, DVD's at home, walk-in movies, going to family gatherings, bowling, Auburn football games, eating fudge at the fair, riding one of the largest ferris wheels in the world in Japan, reading, touring the different islands of Hawaii, cooking, working in the yard, dancing, entertaining friends and family, decorating, the beaches, shopping, working out at the gym, a glass of wine, lunching with friends, and playing with my 10 year old grandson. I am now blessed with a beautiful granddaughter, too.
I'm just as comfortable dressed up in a ball gown as jeans and a tee-shirt or sloppy work duds in the yard. I adapt to the occasion.
I love traveling and experiencing different cultures around the world. It's been several years since I've done any traveling, but I still enjoy it and will again.

Date a man from Alabama, United States. I love people. I am very caring and looking for a partner to share life with. A positive person and loves life like I do. Someone that you can tell any thing to. I want a best friend. I had that for 24 years and the last 9 years she battled with cancer but never gave up. She fought right up to the end. She wanted me to find someone and not spend the rest of my life by myself. She even told me who not to date after she was gone. Some of her friends who she said had baggage...Pretty special person....

Meet a woman from United States. My friends would describe me as trustworthy, helpful, fun to be around. I like to travel, golf, play card games, go to movies, volunteer. I enjoy cooking and dining out. Dancing is always a great outlet, as well as attending sporting events. Family and friends are always my top priority. Looking for an upbeat friend to share similar interests and just enjoy life. Did I mention I love to golf, but always looking to improve.

Date men and women from United States. Thank you for stopping by and giving me the opportunity to tell you a little about myself.
I feel I have been very blessed, I have had a wonderful life with so many opportunities for which I am very grateful. I wake every morning with a thankful prayer in my heart, accepting that while life is not always a bed of roses, with God's help there is nothing I cant handle.
I am a retired RN with a graduate degree in education. I was born in England, just south of London, and came to the US back in the 70's. I am still very connected to my family in the UK and go home often. Besides my children and my four wonderful grandsons, I really don't have any other family here in the US - lots of friends, but no family.
I live with my German Shepherd Beau, and my two paint mares, Sally and Sugar. I have been widowed for eight years, and I would really love to meet someone with whom I could settle down and grow old. It is important that such a man would be fit enough to travel, and would also like my family and my animals, a man who is close to his family, has a sense of humor, and is able to see his cup half full, rather than half empty, someone who doesn't take life too seriously.
My friends would describe me as funny, cheerful, a loyal friend and a person they could rely upon.
My life has been devoted to my family, and to my work in the Health Care of Women and Children, but now that I am retired the focus has switched to my other passions.
When I am home (and not taking care of grandchildren!) I like to get up late, potter round in my garden, and spend time at my barn with my horses. On hot days I like to go to the beach (I live on a lake) and soak up the sun. I am content to spend evenings at home, or go out to dinner and/or a movie, or the theater.
When the mood takes me I like to travel down the coast to my favorite place in Carmel Valley, or to the Bay Area to see my grown children.
I have some old and very dear friends in Canada and the UK with whom I like to visit often.
I feel I have the best of all worlds, I am still young enough to have a curiosity about life, and an adventurous spirit, but also old enough to have created some wonderful memories, and to be content with all that the Lord has given me.

Meet someone special from United States. Hello,
I am a retired Telecom Industry executive and business owner. I keep myself very busy and wonder how I ever had time to work. I am an avid golfer although not a low handicapper. 2012 is my year to improve my game. I love the arts and paint both in oil and watercolor as well as study portraiture and figure drawing. Travel is a favorite with me. I have seen some of the world but there is so much more to see and do that I want to spend this phase of my life doing just that. I very much enjoy the arts, everything from live theater to the movies, exhibits, street fairs, concerts and everything in between.
I am a born and bred Californian although I have lived in different states as well. I eat healthy, exercise and work at keeping myself looking and feeling younger than my years. My family is very important to me. In fact I recently moved back to California to be closer to them. I wanted to be a bigger part of the lives of my 2 adult children and 2 young grandchildren. Sunday dinner is always a wonderful event with them.
I am seeking an intelligent, kind, gentle man who likes the same things I do. I am not looking for marriage but a friendly/close perhaps serious relationship. Golf and travel companionship are important in this relationship. He should be confident and financially and personally independent with a sense of adventure and a willingness to participate equally in all we do together. This could include cooking a casual dinner, preparing for a dinner party or planning a trip to the Far East. This sounds like the perfect man doesn't it?
Is that you?

Date people from United States. I've discovered that tuning up one's profile is really a cathartic experience, and I'm learning a lot about myself in the process. So, here's yet another tune-up:
I was born and raised in Hicksville, Ohio! Yes, really...no kidding! My family moved to S. California when I was a teenager. In 1976, I moved to Germany and then to England, where I lived for 32 years! For many of those years, I taught either Special Education or Language Arts at Lakenheath High School on an American Air Force base. I moved to Auburn last summer because I have a sister in this area, and my three children now all live in California, too. I will freely admit that signing up for online dating scared me to death, but I am actually beginning to have more fun with it; however, I prefer to move in baby steps. I think that a list is the best way to figure out who I am and what I am looking for in a relationship, so, please note that when I wrote this, my tongue was firmly planted in my cheek!
1. If you are a Type A personality who knows what you want before you check out the menu, if you know what you are going to wear before you leap out of bed, or if you can choose a color palette after only a quick glance, then I will drive you crazy!
2. If you do not understand sister relationships and the fact that nothing is more important than family and friends, then I'm not for you. (nothing humorous there!)
3. If you don't understand (who does?) a very right-brained woman (airhead) then read no further. I never got the equation right about the train leaving New York travelling at 90 MPH and when it would meet that other train travelling at 80 MPH from L.A. because I was always daydreaming about the people who might have been on those trains and why they were headed to New York or L.A. in the first place and what dark secrets they must have been running away from!
4. If you want us on each other's leashes, then that just won't work. I want to be with you, but I love "girl" trips now and then. I will miss you like crazy and will buy you silly gifts while I'm away, but I will also longingly anticipate our reunion! And, hey! Why should you give up poker nights, fishing trips, or whatever...just as long as "whatever" does not include lap dancing (with someone else) or scantily clad girls jumping out of cakes! TRUST! We gotta have it!
5. If you want me to hang on your every word (I'm actually a very good listener) and never disagree with you nor passionately express my own opinions, then we won't work out. (Small differences of opinion, small is the operative word there, can put a little life into a relationship!)
6. If you don't try to eat well and exercise, then we're in trouble; however, you have to be able to exist...once in a blue moon...on a bowl of cereal for dinner! I like cooking, but sometimes it bores me! (I love a man who knows his way around the kitchen!)
7. If you can't compromise, then forget it. I'm very good at the art of give and take. For example, I will camp with you! I'm a good sport and can camp...if... I can have a flushing toilet, a hot shower, and a place to plug in my hair dryer, oh...and a 100% guarantee that there will be no snakes within 100 miles of where we camp! How's that for a compromise?
8. If you don't have kids (and even if you do), you need to know that almost nothing in the world gives me more pleasure than to fall asleep at night to the sounds of my visiting adult children laughing together, ordering movies, eating all of my food, drinking all of my wine and beer, and finding that special piece of pie I had hidden in the fridge for myself!
9. If you still believe that love means never having to say we're sorry, please don't contact me! On the other hand, if you can understand why the "dancing in the barn" scene in the movie Witness positively leaves me weak, then please contact me right away!
10. If you have had the patience to read this far, then I may already be in love with you!
